Engine misses upon acceleration

Hey when i am at a lower rpm(2000-3000) and I stomp the gas, the engine misses but when it get's over about 3000rpm the car takes off. What is causing this problem? I am gonna replace the spark plugs and wires tomorrow and also the fuel filter and air filter. Could it be a clogged catalytic converter? It does it alot when i change gears. It isn't as if i am shifting to soon cause it isn't a constant bogging down of the motor. It is jumpy then smooths out when the rpms are up there.

I think if you do all you have planned, it 'should' go away. Give it a shot - if it doesn't work, let us know.
