engine light code po446

i keep getting the engine light code po446 which says EVAP Emission Control System Vent Malfunction. can anyone tell me what this is refering to and how i can fix the problem??

its on a 1999 eclipse gsx

Sounds like a the emissions (evap) solenoid, either not plugged up or went bad...

now will this make my car have crappy gas milage? right now im getting about 175 miles to a tank

I dont see it making any real difference in the gas milage. Will help clean the engine bay though. Just check the solenoid out and see if that is the culprit
