Engine into bay

So I am finishing up my build, which is my first. Just wondering if there are any tips for putting the complete engine back into the bay. Thanks, I appreciate all knowledge and/or tips.

I like to tape cardboard to sharp corners of the engine and transmission to help avoid scratching up the paint. Usually I do a swap with just me, with a friend you might not need to do this.

Use a load lever and drop the trans side way down and drop it in and level it back out. Do it by myself and have no problems even with all the accessories bolted on. Have fun.

like mentioned before drop the entire thing angled trans first... helps if you get rid of the lower support beam so it makes things easier.

This so much. I had such issues doing it solo after my load leveler broke.

It also helps to drop the cross member.

Drop the Trans down, use the leveler to balance it out once you get it in. Line of the trans mount. Get the back mount lined up and put the bolt in. Put the trans mount bolt through, put the cross member back on, get the front bolt in, torque down the cross member. Get the driver's sound mount on/lined up.

You can use a floor jack and blocks of wood to move the engine around a bit.

I also like to bolt the ac compressor back on with the engine still angled before you drop it all the way down. Makes pretty easy.

I dont know about 2gs, but in the 1g I had alot of room with the battery and small stuff removed. I was able to pull the enging and trans easily. I do know the 2gs are set up a little differant and look like they are a little more crowded.

What I usually do is slide the transmission under the passenger side of the car then drop the motor down from the top, bolt up the trans and raise it up into place.. Thats what Ive found easiest. For me anyways..
