Hey guys pulling my motor out tomorrow. Got everything removed, disconnected, axels dropped and everything drained etc. While the engine is out I am going to repaint the bay (black) and was thinking of using a spray truck bed liner so it never flakes again. Will be very durable just not shiny.

What do you guys think, what are some other good options for painting my engine bay??

Will use bedliner also. Black color will also make the bay seem 'cleaner' since the wires and hoses (that are black) will blend into the background.
If you are thinking about paint, go with high-temp just to be on the safe side, although have seen regular stuff used without too many issues.

Make sure the product you choose isn't water-based or it's VERY picky about having a cleaned and scuffed surface to adhere to, which is quite difficult to achieve in an engine bay.

You may want to consider something like U-Pol GraviGard instead. It's black and overpaintable.

I've used a brush on type paint for the motor mounts in my car. This particular one was called Chassis Saver. I wasn't particularly impressed with the results, the long dry time makes it prone to pick up dust from the air. In the end, I just stripped and went with a etch primer, hi-build and a 2K sealer from dupont in the engine bay. Be warned though any imperfections in the bay will be much more visible with the black, so if you go this route you may want to pick up some sanding blocks.

I'm going with a chemical resistant chassis black. I've got a couple test panels right now. Brake fluid doesn't even touch the stuff

What product are you using? That sounds nice. I'm painted the car black too once the body is done, so any durable and possibly chemical resistant paint is up my alley.

Justin - I will look into this stuff as well, know where to find it?

One of my cars had the bay sprayed with bed liner when I bought it and it looked horrible. I wouldn't recommend it
