I just adjusted my BOV and it sounds a little better. It sounds like a pigeon. Do u adjust it from underneath and should i tighten or soften?

Ok my main wuestion is why is my engine idling at 0? It shakes after it starts badly. THe rpms are at 0. Even with the gas pedal to the floor, the accerlation from 1st to 2nd takes about 20 seconds and the same from other gears. THe car takes forever to move. Also the muffler sounds wierd. THe muffler shoots out oil when i rev high. It also sounds more like a motorcycle than a car. It kinda shoots out puffs of air at different intervals. I know my engine didnt idle like this befor or sound like this, but after racing one night it won't accerlate properly or sound right. Any feedback is welcome! Thanks!

Yah the sparkplugs and wires seem fine. But sometimes it starts off and idels fine and sometimes it doesn't. And now it won't start up and its sounding like its trying but it doesn't start up.

If your RPM's are at zero, either your cars not running, or your tach is wrong.

First things first, do a boost leak test. You do have a tester right? Your car probably has a combination of a boost leak, misfire, and some sort of oil issue, which I can't really tell you without some more information.

What are your current modifications and mileage on everything?

My current modifications to the car are justa anew clutch a new clutch master cylinder new spark wires and plugs. THe Mileage was 136,000 before i rebuilt the engine. It has a rebuilt engine now. Also if the engine turns on, the rpms are either at 50 or lower because the needle says 0 and also the engine shakes heavily when its idling like that.

What kind of plugs are you using, and what are they gapped at?

Your car should be idling around 750, so you definately have a problem there. Like I said earlier, do a leak test, and fix anything that's leaking. As for the oil in your exhaust, pull the intake tube off the turbo, and see if there is any oil there. A little film is normal, if you have your PCV routed back into your intake.

Replace your fuel filter. It's normal for the engine to shake like that, since the RPM's are so low, but it's not normal for the RPM's to be that low. You don't have a SAFC or AFPR do you?

You said they SEEM fine, but did you check the spark of EACH one seperately?

It sounds like your car is not running on 4 cylinders all the time, which would make a balancing issue and cause your car to shake like you mentioned. It would obviously also cause very low power.

But your tach being at zero seems like an unrelated electrical problem..

What is a SAFC or AFPR. Do i have one and do i need one?

Well, if you have no idea what they are, I'm assuming you don't have them. You'll need to do a little reading around about the basics of your car, and the upgrade steps.

But, bascially, a A SAFC is a electronic device that allows you to alter the amount of airflow the ECU sees at different RPMS. A AFPR is an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator. You'll need one of these when using a bigger fuel pump. Again, something that is required to run higher boost levels. Check out the tech forums, or the VFAQ for more information.
