Ok heres the deal. The car idles at 1500 and is a little bouncy when the engine is cold when i first start it for about a good 10 min. The oil pressure seems a little too high at that time too. Its a little above halfway on the gauge. I have a broken o2 sensor (the one under the car) according to the check engine code. Could that be the problem? I dont have the money to replace anything on the car right now unless its going to benifit the car. Thanks guys.

I have a Big 16g and pretty much all supporting mods except injectors. Check my profile.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAaaaaa.

Good one guys! :D

That's normal behavior. Every single car you ever get in will idle high when you first start it up cold. It's to warm up the engine, get the oil moving, etc etc. The oil pressure is high because the engine is moving faster, and because the oil is cold and thick and doesn't want to flow.

Hehehe. I'm seriously giggling in my cube at work. I have some exhaust bearings I can sell ya that'd fix that problem :) Real cheap.

Same here!

Wow, those were some bad answers at first. When I first saw the thread I just thought it was a joke. :thumb: Guess not.

yea man its like 20 degrees out here in RI i just ran out and started my car to double check...i too idle at 1500ish and my oil pressure is the same..the oil pressure is higher because the oil is thicker before warm up. it idles high like this for a few minutes too warm itself up faster, im pretty sure every car does that.:thumb: :dsm:

The o2 sensor will not affect start up because the ECU depends on up to 3 factors before it begins to monitor sensor output. One of those is how long the car has been running. Typicly its about a 60 second period before it even goes into closed loop. I can't remember the others but I know that the engine has to be a certian operating temperature which usually goes through the coolant temp sensor. Besides that, Enigma_Man is right on the money.

The O2 sensor "under your car" has to do with emisions. The one in your DP actually effects how your car runs. So your normal high idel in cold weather or any other problems proably arnt a result of your later O2 sensor not working.
