I just bought the car Friday. 91 AWD Turbo. The car was sitting for about 6 months. I drove it home and it was kinda slugish so yesterday, I did a tune up. Ran it yesterday and it drove wonderfully. Started right up, idled, everything. Went to start it today, and it just turned over and over. I started to smell gas so I figured it flooded. Pulled the fuse and cranked it. Put it back in and it just turned.

I then pulled the plugs out and they were soaked. Looked in the chambers, and there was a pool of gas in every cylinder. Took the fuse out and cranked it to get the fuel out. Then put the plugs back in, cranked about 2 or 3 seconds, pulled the plugs out, and flooded again instantly.

All I can ask is what the hell?!?! It is possible that the injectors are stuck open, but they worked yesterday. The only thing possible is that the injectors are open, but why for so long?

It's the ECU - If not the Caps it's these little Injector Solenoid deals on the ECU Board - Watch your crankcase as it will fill with gas - You can bend a Rod - I did - NUMEROUS Threads on this BTW...

listen to BUCK...i ha dthe same problem and he told me the same thing....i replaced the ECU and it fixed it.

I pulled the ECU apart and it was a capcitor. It took me a while to realize that caps is short for that. Drove up to Maryland to pick up one. The only one in the area. I just put a new wheel bearing in and now it runs soooo nice.

The ECU I got was the same number to my old one except for one difference. The second number (the one below the type) had an A at the end of it. I wonder if my ECU was so out of whack that it just made the car run like crap. Today, it ran soooo nice, i mean it too.

Thanks for all the info. I hope that I can learn alot about these machines on this forum. I am used to rotaries so dont mind me if I just dont like piston engines :)

meet

Hell yeah I will show up. Man, 2 shows in one month. I have Rotorfest 4 coming up at the end of this month. My company is a sponser so I have to go. But if I am not busy, I will come. Just need to know where.

I guess I will try looking in the meet section or whatever I saw earlier.

Welcome to DSMs! I also was into rotaries (RX7 FC turboII to be exact) before I found the DSM world. You will learn a lot from this forum very fast. The 4G63 is an amazing motor, it can handle insane amounts of power without blowing anything (cough apex seals cough). Now the DSM itself has some quirks, once you start modding it, you will have some problems. But from learning about DSMs and rotaries, I can say this: While DSMs do break a lot, it usually isn't a big deal, its all that nickle-and-dime shit (well every once and a while its a big thing ;)), but with rotaries, you #### up and its time for a rebuild! I'd say for a daily driver/weekend warrior, DSMs are the better choice, but for real tuning and real fun, go rotary. The rotary engine is also an amazing thing, it just sucks about the damn seals that blow a lot. Sorry for my rambling and once again welcome to DSMs!

I see you found the thread for the meet :thumb: I will see you there. And for the dsm breaking stuff after modding, I write it off as "this car was never built to handle 300hp" Besides, I almost like it when stuff breaks because it is a good reason to upgrade.
