car leaks a ton of oil in every place , also loud knocking noise when he starts it , no A/C and a sloppy turbo ... Might just be worth it to replace it , a rebuild here in vegas is about 1700 new motors are about 1500 ... catch my drift ?

hahaha my motor in my car was sent from japan with 45,000 miles from a place called tigerjapmotors it was 1300 and perfect ... daily driven for over 3 years with zero issues , even running a 20g at 15 psi for the last 3 months ..

Point is i wanted to know other routes .. craigslist is a no go :nono:

You sound really cocky, like you already know the answer to your question.

You can either take the advice given in the thread, or go about it your way. Your choice.

Just pull the old motor and do a rebuild yourself. It will be a lot cheaper in the long run and you know everything will be done correctly.

I have seen many car running crate engines from jdm tiger one of wich parked on the side of my house. A cheap @#$ rebuild wont hold like a good oem engine.

Jdm tiger, dsm graveyard, craigslist.... go 6 bolt if possible

Please check the Vendor review section before dealing with them.

That should be done with any vendor, freelancer or member. Check the feed back on them.

needboost.... please know about who you recommend.

Dsmmoster08 Have you checked with the Supporting Vendors I listed?

Actually I apologize for throwing dsmgraveyard in the mix. I dont know why I said them after such terrible service they have attempted to provide me. (Compare prices maybe?)

I know a good amount of people with jdmtiger engines (including my brothers) and they all seem to be solid low milage engine. However I have no knowledge on there customer service. (Could be risky)

Craigslist could go good or bad based on your own judgement. Theres alot of dsms that start but don't drive.

Please Whatever you do DO NOT use DSMgraveyard, took 2 1/2 months to get my short block and they gave me the wrong cam wheel design, painted the block the wrong color, and it was shipped in a plastic wal mart tote with no packing material which caused a guide for the head to be bent. PLEASE use someone other than them. and they lied to me 3 times telling me it was final honing for a whole month, horrible business, im surprised its still in business.

Thanks for all the feedback .

SIM ? whats that ? At this point a JDM swap is around 1350 shipped or there is a local place in town that does complete rebuilds for 1700 ..

Only thing im my mind now is the 1350 engine from tigerjap is going to have 50,000 miles at the bare min .. FEW HUNDO more and there is ZERO MILES on the motor with the rebuild .... :hmm:

So that would be the better route right ? DSM graveyard does have some motors but there all like 2500 plus more if you want any upgrades plus shipping ? that sounds like a RIP OFF !!! LOL

I have looked at the vendor list and it looks like alot of those motors have alot of abuse and are pretty close in price to a rebuilt one with all the shipping included ...

MY POOR BROTHER :tease:

DSM Graveyard sells stock, zero-mile, reconditioned engines with warranty for $1300 plus about $200 for shipping. And even with their poor reputation, I'd trust an engine from them over any engine that was rebuilt by Bob at Tire World using Autozone parts. Or yanked from a Japanese car that was beaten to death in only 40k miles. I'm also curious how you can tell an engine has been abused just by looking at it...

But sure, why not buy some cheap "JDM" clunker and toss it in the car? That should last at least another 10-15k miles. I mean, the stock engines have only lasted over 200k and put down 800hp, so I can't see any reason to purchase a well-built OEM engine...

Got my engine from tigerjapmotors and it had 40,000 miles , and i just broke another 40,000 miles on it boosted with a 20g ? what are you getting at ?

On another note i do think my brother should go with a fully rebuilt motor for around the same price :shhh:
