I am assembing a 6 bolt motor, I know where the thrust bearings go etc, but two sets (a.k.a) four of my main bearings have grooves in the center of them and the other four do not, where do the ones with grooves go and where do the ones with no grooves go ? Also I have heard some people say that they tighten there thrust bearing main cap on a 6 bolt to 51 ft/lbs but my haynes book says 10-12 ft/lbs what do you guys tighten it to?

Ok I figured out the bearing problem now I am just curious about the thrust bearing? Do we really only tighten the thrust bearing cap to 10-12ftlbs?
