Mine isnt emissions compliant but here are a few pics so you can see how I rerouted the wiring, coils, battery, etc. I know yours is a 2g and you cant mount the coils where I did but it gives you a good idea what to do.

VERY NICE!!! I want to do the same but with flat black. I figure another 100K and the road grime will take care of that for me.

92awddsm... I like your coil idea, where is it mounted exactly? Do you have any pics of the coil itself?

It is mounted on the rear most bolt for the engine mount. I found a writeup on it but I cant seem to locate it now. Basically, I enlarged one of the mounting bolt holes on the coil bracket to accept the larger bolt. I then cut the rest of the mounting tabs from the coil bracket, ground down the rear corner of the engine mount, and then used the rear engine mount bolt to mount the coil between the engine mount and strut tower. I will try to take a couple of pics this weekend and post the writeup if I can find it.

Here's a pic of mine. I armor-all everything black on the car (hoses, wire loom, etc.). Then, for like powdercoated items like my valvecover and pipes i use a spray on wax. For the polish pieces, i use mothers polish liquid. Over all i think it makes everything shine. P.S.- does anybody know if it is possible to polish that lower heat shield? I tried my old top one but it didn't turn out so well (hints why i got the JMFAB one).

well I have a 99GSX and I am rebuilding my motor and installing a eagle stroker kit along with some other go fast goodies. I want to clean up my engine bay ie...hide the wires. I am also installing a magnus intake manifold and want to know what componets can i remove from the stock intake manifold. there are several vacuum hoses which must stay but what about the MAP sensor, and some other hoses...any suggestions or pics of other clean engine bays will help

thank

I believe this exact same question has been asked about 3 times in the past few months. I am sure that if you search you will come up with some ideas. My suggestion would to go around use a de-greaser and first CLEAN the engine bay (not on the paint though) then once the bay is cleaned then SHINE it up

well my engine bay is pretty clean. I just want to eliminate some wires or hoses if i could..

when I pop the hood all i want to see or least stand out is my motor and not the web like routing of the wires or hoses.

if i remove the charcoal canister and the lines will this affect smog test? I would still like to pass emissions if i could

if you want to free up some space theres a lot you can do. remove all the extra vacuum lines and charcoal canister like other people suggested, you can also relocate your battery to the trunk. i removed my cruisecontrol because it wouldnt hold a steady speed. you can get a non power steering rack and remove your power steering. then relocate your alternator under your intake manifold. also remove your a/c. its a lot to remove and maybe more than you want to do but it sure cleans up the engine bay and makes it easier to work on your car if something goes wrong.

somone still running a/c and cruise control isnt all that worried about "less stuff" under the hood. Other then loosing those 2 items.. you can relocate the coolant overflow. I also would remove the bracket between the head and t/b (used for installing the motor, other wise it has no function)

any body know some good sites/places to pick up dress up parts. and where did you get that braided radiator hose at.

"real" braided hoses are rather expensive. you can get braided sleeves for alot less pretty much anywere. summit racing has alot of dress-up items.
