Dude I got all I needed for an oil change plus seafoam to wic out all the water or moisture that could be in the oil. I took off the oil drain plug and low and behold. AT LEAST 2-3 ounces of water came out first then the oil. I used about 3 qts of oil to flush out any bad oil that may be in there. I dont think the oil made it to the oil pump because when I removed the old filter it was all old dark oil no water. To be in the safe side I'll flush with 3 more ats of oil then finish if off with a oil change with 10w40 and hope for the best. After a sparkplug change.:|

DO NOT WASH YOUR ENGINE. After this oil fiasco which took 5 hours and 12 qts of wasted oil to flush the system. I go to change my sparkplugs and find a stupid amount of standing water in all four sparkplug wells.

Currently drying with papertowels and a hairdryer.

Washing motor is a nogo as far as I'm concern. Professional task only!

Oh "POOH" ... I wash mine all the time when I hit the carwashes (course, I have the cover over the sparkplug assembly) and ever have any problems, but I do it when the motor's not too hot since I live close to a carwash.

I mainly hit the block, transmission and undercarriage ... - DSM

I powerwashed mine at least 6 times in the last couple months. I do it before every show.

Don't spray full blast in areas where you don't want a ton of water. I cover my air filter, fuse box, and distribution block with plastic bags. I even use McGuire's Aluminum Wheel Cleaner on all the bare aluminum.

I've never had any problems.

If your spark plug boots were in good shape, they wouldn't have allowed all that water down past them. And if you got water in your oil, you're oil cap is probably leaking.

Water did not get into the oil pan via the oil cap. I carelessly did not check the dipstick to ensure it was closed properly. Full blast wasnt the issue.

Your right about the sparkplug wires. If they werent so worn out nothing would have gotten into the wells. Which is why NGK sparkplug wires are on the way.

I did learn alot, with proper precaution all of the above could be avoided, but washing the engine bay is not for me. all the oil resedue from past leaks are gone which is all I wanted. After drying out the wells and changeing the sparkplugs my GS runs perfect once again. Better than before actually, now that my idle issue is gone. I merely needed to clean my air filter.

Yeah I've washed mine a couple times and never had a problem.Like Knochgoon24 said, cover the essetials with wallmarts bags and you should be fine..

Ive done this everytime and never had a running issue pulling out of the car wash..
