electrical short

So I just finished my 6 bolt swap and started hooking up all the electrical connections. When I tried to install the battery there is a big spark meaning their is a short somewhere, However when i connect the battery without the the white wires coming from the fuse box there is no short.(by the way those 2 white wires do go to the positive terminal right?)..
Any ideas??

The two whites wires coming from the battery, I'm trying to remember where they go. I know there's four white wires, 2 I believe go to the fuse panel and the other 2 go to the alternator. If you have a voltmeter then just read for continuity from the pos terminal to ground, there should be no continuity. Then make sure the ground wire is grounded good. If the pos wire reads out good, then the spark is more then likely not a problem... just the circuit being completed.
