Ok so a couple weeks ago i had an issue where for a couple of days when i would turn the key to start the car i would lose all power, and as soon as i let go of the key all the power would return....i would turn the key over and over, sometimes it would only take 10 trys sometimes i would be there for 10 min turning over and over until it would start...Once started everything would be fine. This problem has stopped for now. Now i have two more problems. The first is my blinkers at idle work fine, but when im driveing they sometimes blink very slowly and like skip a few blinks or dont blink at all. The other problem is ever few times i turn the car off all power is gone, ill open the door and no lights come on, i put the key and turn it to the on position and still no power to radio lights etc. as soon as i turn the key to attempt to start all power returns and everything works fine. Sorry this is a little long, i tried searching for similar problems but couldnt find anyone with them. i dont really know what to start checking or looking for other than if fuses were blown, never had to tackle electrical problems. Thanks for any help you can give!

A good place to start would be to check the battery. How old the battery is? Are the battery terminals are clean and tight? Get the battery load tested to be sure it carrys the amps and volts it needs. If that all checks out try the charging system. Be sure your getting the right volt. This is just a start you may not find anything wrong but it give you a place to start.

took the words right outta my mouth!! dirty terminals will definatley give you some issues. if that is not your problem then i would check the wireing to the alternator and starter. good luck!

I would also recommend checking all ground cables after you do the cleaning. Use a voltmeter to check various points between the body/engine and the negative terminal.

ok thank you for all the replies. The battery is less than a year old but i checked the terminals and they weren't too corroded but the negative terminal clamp was very loose and will no longer tighten properly on the terminal, so i replaced both the negative and positive clamps and hopefully the problems were that simple!...Thank you again for your help
