electrical problem

this has me stumped. would anybody know why when the cars not running the interior lights don't work and my scan tool wont connect? If i start it everything works like it should. is this a common issue with these cars?

Check your ground wires. Bad grounds cause lots of electrical issues.

Are you turning the key into the ON position? Not accessory position.

For a scan tool just turn it to the on position but don't start it.

We need details of the car, we know is a 2g, but is it turbo, not turbo, also what year, electrical changed on some years.

sorry folks i have a 1998 gst i havnt added to my profile yet because i just bought it. my scan tool will cut on when its plugged in to the port. it will only draw info from the vehicle if its in the on or running. if i open the door nothing cuts on interior wise, i have a test light and Multi meter and am going to try and chase this issue down.

this is whats causing my issue the wire on the left keeps losing connection. anybody have this problem?

Holly shttttttt, fix those therminals and you should be ok,
Those connections are crap, cut the wires and put a new connection, make sure to have all that area tight and clean.

^ agree clean up the wiring install new battery terminals and you should have a better connection .
