I dunno if this is the right forum to post this in, but last night my gauge cluster and ac control lights shut off. My headlights were on, everything is normal except that all the lights that are controlled by the little knob on the left side of gauge cluster are off. Boost gauge, gauge cluster lights and ac control lights shut off. My stereo lights are still on. The weirdest part is that when i hit the brake pedal they turn back on. If i barely tap the brake pedal without even applying force to the pedal the lights will turn right back on as usual. I have no idea what would cause this does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you.

update: sometimes the dash lights won't even turn on even if i'm pressing the brake pedal. Its completely random sometimes the lights will turn on when i hit the brake and sometimes they will stay off.

Did you check your fuse panel under the dash? I still doubt its a fuse if they are turning back on once in a while. The fact that braking made them come back on makes me think you may have some wiring that may be hanging down and touching the brake pedal assembly.. or that the negative G's while braking is causing the short to un-short. This is pretty much a shot in the dark though, as its hard to diagnose a problem like this without getting in there with a multimeter and start testing wires.

Open a service manual and see what curcuits are related to your brake switch circuit, and maybe even your brake lights circuit. This stuff must be shorted together somewhere....
