1G Electrical gurus- please help!

Hey guys well i have a really anoying problem on my 91 tsi..
My dome light, my key ring light, and my foot lights ALLWAYS stay on no matter what. Doesn't matter if the key is in or not, or if the car is on or not. I thought it might've been one of my door switches stuck open or something but i dont get the open door light on my dash I heard that we have a timer that dims the lights off once you shut the door if so do you guys think this might be the culprit? I bought the car like this, and i know for a fact the previous owner ripped off tha alarm the car use to be equiped with do to the fact it wouldnt stop going off Any ideas on what to test would greatly be appreciated.. its getting really anoying to disconnect my battery every time i park the car, to keep the lights from draining my battery..

first off your have to get a real wiring diagram and a test light, what it sounds like to me is the it has a circuit the that switch is on the ground side and if the wire is grounded before the switch it will stay on constantly.

Yes one of the door switches or the dome light relay is permanently shorting to ground.
