You can make anything work.
Why not save money and buy one straight from a dsm? Take advantage of the children who think they have a Honda and are yet to see the value of their A/c..

But is it's concealment your after.....
Buy the parts of a freezer box, like the ones that hold ice bags outside your local gas stations, the parts are small and cheap depending on were you get them..

But still electric.

Blurred I checked that and did a lot of reading long time ago when I was trying to do the electric ac conversion and that compressor is not ideal for our cars, that's a 3700 BTU, even with 2 compressors it will be 7400 BTU and we need at least 9000 BTU for comfort, we will need 3 compressors like that to meet our desire, they doesn't perform well, but it is compartible with our system, however they offer a brain to control the motor but knowing you how good you are when comes to electrionics, I'm sure you can make your own.

You would be better of using the Omega which is way way powerful and they can customs any compressor you want or need, http://www.omega-usa.com/client/images/BATTERY AIR CONDITIONING-MANUAL.PDF

I gave up on my project which work has being keeping me busy and have no time for projects I barely drive my dd.

I'll be looking for your thread it is indead interested.

There is a huge difference a car then a house, a car in ambient of 90degf it will reach 105, 108 inside the car besides once you turn on the ac, the surrounding area (door panels, center consol, dashboard etc, etc) will still transmit heat that will bring down the cooling performance,.

Do a research to compare both (House vs car ).

Now I do agree a window 5000 BTU will freez a small room, but we have to keep in mind the system is compact, (short ac lines etc etc) and will perform better,. In a car you have long and bigger lines, unless you install the complete ac in the back of the window as we see some vans, then that will perform way better.
