I recently purchased a greddy egt and boost gauge. I was wondering where to tap the sensor. I always read that the #1 cylinder ran the hottest, but while i was on 1000 already answered question it stated that the #2 cylinder ran the hottest. I just wanted to know your opinions on this matter. Also, I have a K and N filter that eliminates the air box. Should I purchase an air intake tube or go ahead and buy a blow off valve?

There is no proof that any cylinder runs hotter than another. Most people install it on the number 1 runner, and SBR casts there manifolds w/ the bung in the nubmer 1 runner. I also know people that have tapped in the collector area (where all the runners meet), and I also know people who have put it after the turbo in the 02 housing, b/c some people say that over time autometer probes may melt, and fall off and get into the turbo and kill the turbo, but thats only a saying, also no proof.

So its all up to you. People but it just about anywhere and seem to work the same. No hotter cylinder than another. Shit, I saw a guy that had a separate probe/ gauge for every runner, and the collector area and the 02 housing. I think that was a bit overkill.
