1G EGR Valve ?

ever since i unplugged all my vaccum lines i have had a pinging from my motor. it sounds like a lifter tick but at the same time it goes away every once in awhile. other symptoms are horrible gas mileage. sluggish performance. i was thinking my injectors. but seeing how i removed all vaccum lines will putting a egr block off plate help my matter or am i screwed.

no i didnt. should i loop them or just block them off?

The egr. system reduces knock by quenching the combustion chambers with a small amount of inert exhaust gas, this is why you have more knock than usual . . .

If you remove your EGR there is one port on the intake manifold that needs to be capped and also two or three on the throttle body. If you remove all the lines, you might as well take out the charcoal canister as well. The line off the fuel tank can be just left open. There is one port on the intake pipe that will need to be capped as well. Leave all the solenoids plugged in to keep from throwing a CEL. You should get an EGR block off plate to put in place of your EGR valve.

Removing the EGR will have no negative effects on how the car runs if its done correctly. I've done it to two different cars including my own with no negative effects and I've seen several others done the same exact way with no problems.
