Are these two ports on the EGR exhaust? Or is one of them exhaust and one of them intake? Which is which? Just curious.

I believe the hole on the right is routed to the exhaust system. The hole on the left goes directly into the intake manifold. The point of the egr valve is to allow exhaust from the right hole to pass into the intake manifold through the left hole. This re-burning of exhaust improves fuel economy and reduces emissions while cruising.

Well, I guess I stand corrected.

"EGR works by recirculating a portion of an engine's exhaust gas back to the engine cylinders. This dilutes the O2 in the incoming air stream and provides gases inert to combustion to act as absorbents of combustion heat to reduce peak in-cylinder temperatures." -Wikipedia.

The port to the right, closest to the head is exhaust.
Awesome thanks! I'm thinking of creating a sneaky dump pipe off of it to help nudge my emissions numbers down. I've had a hard time passing and I usually only fail by a tiny bit (even with all my emissions stuff removed (I do have a CAT) and dumping this to atmophere may give me the edge I need to stop paying retesting fees. ;)

Although that could screw with my wideband readings and mess up the tune... Maybe not a great idea. Just spitballing LOL. Maybe I'll just weld on TWO catalytic converters...
