Intake or exhaust?

either way ur gonna need to upgrade both if your tuning your car...the exhausts on stock cars are very restrictive

You can get a lot done with 500 dollars really.
For example, my exhaust was 240 shipped off ebay (3" mandrel bent SS etc etc), filter and intake pipe would be like 70 or 80 maybe if you looked hard enough, UICP/BOV, and if you have money a cheap downpipe and/or cat.

yeah either way i am gonna get thsoe 3 things just wanted to know what first...

so most of u say exhaust first..

i found one on Ebay for $430+&50 shipping for N1..? is that a good offer? because some websites sell the same exhaust for &550-$700

ok great now you have to make some choices. 2.5" or 3"? Test pipe or high flow cat? Include a o2 housing eliminator? with dump tube or not?

I personally have a 2.5" mandrel bent system from VRS.. cost = 700$ with o2 eliminator..
(took 3 days to get it from order date)

check my gallery for pics.

This is just an example of something you could get. Final choice is up to what you want. Just plan out what you need for the future and buy it once. I also would not buy an exhaust system off of ebay.. but thats me. I prefer to have a nice warranty in case something is messed up.

intake unless you have money to deal with boost creep from a big exhaust.

what the frig are you talking about  ? a 3" aftermarket exhaust system REDUCES the boost creep, not increases the boost creep's effectiveness.

personally, i would definately go with the Injen intake first, then upgrade the exhaust system. but if you want to get noticed first (like impressing the ladies :D ) go with a Greddy Evo2 exhaust system. this will increase performance AND it will sound really sweet :thumb: .

as one of my other first mods suggestions would be to get get a vented hood. this will dramatically decrease the temp inside the engine bay. just be careful which one you pick, cause the wrong one may let water and other stuff on and into your brand new shiny Injen intake, WHICH IS VERY BAD :thumbdown .

um what?

explain to me how getting a big exhaust is going to help control boost creep? Cause.. I know lots of us get so much boost creep with stock exhaust  . Soon as you start creating a higher flow with less back pressure on the turbo the risk of boost creep is increased. Therefore, using a 3" exhaust system there is a very good chance of experiencing boost creep. I am letting the guy know ahead of time so he understands that things might need to be done to address the problem that will come up with a better flowing exhaust.

sorry. i cgot confused( ) with turbo lag .

The actual brand I bought was VRS.. they are at www.vrsexhaust.com if you need more info on them. I ordered mine through a 3rd party vendor which i named in your private message so i could get free shipping on it heh. Check your private messages.

You could also go with them yes. Just remember they use some generic knock-off muffler and take a long ass time to ship. VRS uses only MagnaFlow and will normally ship out the next day. I do think you CAN get a magnaflow with R&R ... you just have to pay extra.. so it ends up being about the same price (actually I just looked around their site.. looks like they only offer their "in-house" brand muffler). Only real difference I see is the wait time and muffler.

oh, and dont forget about shipping costs. Mine was free.

I would go with the N1 exhaust system first. Releive the back pressure. The gassy build up will leave your car feeling bloated. Once ther backpressure is releived then get a header, then get the intake. I bought my exhaust and now my car is very happy. I got my intake @ no limit, my exhaust and my header @ cox import. No limit took 3 weeks to get me my intake. They are not cool. But cox was cool. They had decent prices too.
