I've been looking some things up, planning on building a 6bolt 2.3 stroker everything built from head to bottom end. Now i see this thing that says a 264 intake cam and 272 exhaust cam widen power band and sacrifice less idle. I do plan on driving my car daily after the build, from you people with cams what do you think?

272's. They are not as streetable as the 264/272 combo but with the power you might be making you will want the 272/272. I might also suggest bc 280 cams I have been hearing nothing but goodness from them.

With having a stroker the 280's are going to act similar to what 272's would in a 2.0

With the 2.3 its going to make whatever cam you run more mild. So running 264's wouldn't be the best option IMO. I'd probably run 272's or even 280's. My friend runs 288's in his 2.0 and it was a daily driven car. It is streetable, it used to shut off at stop lights, but after he messed around with the tune it hasn't been a problem. I think 272's are the most common cams even in high horse applications.

I'd say that will be a nice mild cam that pull hard. There was a 700 whp talon using 272's so they must be doing something right LOL. Good luck with your build

fastest dsm doesn't mean you can't make 750-800hp. AMS has already proved that it's not that hard to make 900-1000+ on a 2.3L motor.

Honestly if you're going big on a stroker, i'd look at the FP3 or the BC280. The 272 is not enough cam.

if you don't have valve springs and a SMIM, it won't do you that much good, since you won't be able to rev high enough to really see the advantage anyway.

For your power goals you will be able to get there easier with the 280's vs the 272's on a 2.0l. As for a stroker the 280's will idle like 272's but will provide a signifigant increase in power up top. Just remember that you will not be able to rev the stoker too high so it is possible that you will not get the most out of 280's because they are designed for power at rpm's that most of us would never really want to go past in a stroker.

what would i have to do to get 9000rpms out of a stroker, money isn't a problem ill save up for anything i have to get it hustle time go big or go home. this 2g project has to be unique something no one has really done before with a stroker
