Can you clean the egr ports in the intake manifold?

I've got two cars. The Eclipse in my profile, and a '94 Honda Accord. I'm looking to sell the Accord. As I predicted, as soon as I finnished repairing everything wrong with the Accord, it stopped running right. In the simplest terms, it's doing exactly the same thing as my Eclipse: The car stumbles on acceleration when it is cold, between 1500 and 2000rpm. I did a google search on the topic. 99% of the relavent returns said the same thing; clogged ports in the egr manifold. There are TSBs about it and everything.
On the Honda, this "EGR manifold" is a small seperate assembly mounted on the IM. It appears that the sole purpose of the seperate part is to allow disassembly for cleaning. When 2 or 3 of the ports into the IM become clogged, it forces the entire EGR charge into 1 or 2 of the cylinders. Thus, those 1 or 2 cylinders can't combust.
The similarities between the symptoms shown by the Eclipse and the Accord aren't 100% identical by any means, but neither are the EGR systems. They are similar enough though.
It leads me to have to ask: Where are the ports in the 1g 4g63 manifold? Can they be cleaned with the manifold on the head? The IM is one of the few parts that have never been pulled in all of my car's 214,000miles, so I have never looked in there. And I'd believe it if 3 of them were completely plugged. The egr itself was pretty crusty when I had it off recently.
Anyone have any help, suggestions, or pics? I'd hate to have to pull the manifold.
Thanks.

Damn thats why you just block those sum bitches off :D

You got a haynes? If you don't i'm pretty sure I have a spare 1g mani at home that I'll look at for ya.

I'm not 100% sure, but I thought it had 1 port going into the actual plenum, not to each runners like Honda does. Last time I took off my throttle body, I saw one port immediately after the throttle body in the plenum backside. This seemed like it would go to the egr valve. Mine was pretty gunked up with what seemed like exhaust/carbon, so I poured a little bit of seafoam and sprayed carb cleaner into it while I shoved a pipe cleaner into it.

Look at the EGR Blockoff Plate install and you will see where it is, you can take it off and get some carb cleaner in there and make sure it dries a lot before you put everything back on. You can also just block the EGR off :)

I had to use MCCC and a copper wire to open the passages up.

You'll have no problem finding the EGR valve on the intake. It has two ports, one to the intake at the base of the plenum right after the flange for the throttle body and the other port runs through the head to the #4 exhaust ports. Here a picture http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/1803609-post5.html

MCCC (Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner) seems to work better than carb cleaner or SeaFoam when it comes to softening up carbon deposits but once they are dissolving carb cleaner seems to do a better job of washing them away.

Looking at that thread reminds me that I miss have Bruce around.

Thanks everyone. I think I got what I needed. So, is there just the one passage into the plenum, as opposed to individual passages to each runner? That's what I wanted to know. I've had my EGR off, and I know about the two holes under it.
What was Bruce's screen name, and what happened to him? I remember many references to Bruce, but I didn't quite get the connection between his first name and his ID name. Unless it was Bruce.
If our 4g6 engines just have the one port into the plenum, then that answers my question. The similarities between the Accord's problems and my Eclipse's are just superficial.
