Car has begun to hesistate, stumble real bad on pulls.
Its inconsistent, and always 2nd gear up, never 1st gear.

I had a similar problem as this in the past and turned out to be my knock sensor wasnt grounding right causing it to go in limp mode. Fixed it and been fine ever since.

Well now its doing it all over again, same sympthoms except no knock sensor CEL this time. Actually I dont have a CEL at all, but during the pull when I start to stumble I seen it blink at me? Also when I log it, it shows CEL 25 is stored but not active, which is for Barometric pressure sensor... I have GM Maft/translator. As I recall the MAFT's dont use the baro or air temp like karmen vortex, so maybe its normal to see that code on a maft car but Im not sure.

Even worse when I log it Im gettin 43 counts of knock and timing being pulled way to 2 degs or something silly. This is happening at the exact rpm Im feeling the hesistation/stumbling, and its not a linear knock climb, it shoots straight up so I was assuming phantom knock because one time I had KS too loose and it gave that much knock but went away soon as I tightened it. Well that didnt fix it this time.

My tune is the same as its been for past 4 months along with boost, same annoying boost leak at the Tb shaft seals and 11.3 AFR at WOT. Im wondering could it be related to the CEL 25? I checked all my plugs, they were fine, base timing wasnt ever touched, and I even tried a friends KS in case mines was bad and that resulted in no change. I tune myself, and I dont see why this amount of knock would be real knock out of the blue but I dont want to risk it being real and destroy my motor either.

Im considering rewiring my knock sensor wires going to the ecu in case its a wiring problem but wanted some ideas, suggestions first.

Thanks in advanced.

Update, I put in a friends 1g ecu ( took out his dsmlink chip and put my chip in it for my tune ) and I logged the car last night with my old 2g mas back on and now I got a different CEL this time for the TPS, it was constant at idle, but weird thing is whenever Id touch the gas it would go away?
Can a bad throttle position sensor be relevant to my previous issues?

Next we unplugged the battery for awhile and cleared the codes on the logger and I put the GM maft back on and started up, and boom no more CEL for TPS???

Or maybe the knock I was gettin did have something to do with CEL 25 that I orginally got for barometric pressure sensor, and perhaps since iwasnt gettin that cel last night thats why it didnt really knock?
Hope that wasnt too much and you guys can still follow?
Drove her around with no probs, then proceeded to go to some booney roads for some pulls and did like 7pulls between 1st and 2nd gear with no hesistation and no knock counts like before?

Then I really tested it and did a full 2nd thru 4th gear run up to 120mph and finally at the top of 4th it knocked. Spiked straight up to 43 counts, i mean shit the knock wasnt even a linear climb? WTF...

Then we noticed the AFR had been going to 11.8, so I richened up the maft a few clicks and did another pull ( 1st-3rd) and no knock at all...
The wideband is on my center console so the other day when I was logging my friend Josh was watching wideband for me and he swears to it being at 11.3 that day it was hesistating and that it never went leaner. So I dont trust that that was the issue and its solved that easily. Definitly feels like a intermittent problem.

Now I need to put my ecu back on and log and see if CEL 25 comes back and see if it acts weird again. Then that could at least tell me my ecu was bad.

Perhaps Ill replace the TPS also, oh and during the pulls TPS maxed out at 98%, how crucial is it to go to 100% at wot?

The MAFT still uses the Baro and IAT but lock them to constants. That's how it can work with a stock ECU. DSMLink and some chips can provide the constants in the code and permit using the sensor inputs of other things when your running a MAFT.

What TPS voltage are you getting with the throttle closed? Is the IPS functioning?
The ECU isn't going to care about the difference between 98% or 100%.

Can't comment on the rest, not enough data. You may need to start logging all the time until you capture an example.

Weird things is, Ive been driving around with my friends socketed ecu out of his talon because his cars down right now, and ever since Ive put his ecu in I havent had any issues with the knock? And I havent seen any codes for a CEL for a week?
Perhaps this is enough to conclude somethings up with my ecu board, I recall swapping in a new chip a couple months ago on my ecu and when I went to start the car it wouldnt start and my knock buzzer was just going off constant ( its wired into the purge solenoid and triggered for anything over 10 knock counts.) well I opened the ecu back up and noticed the ziff socket was not flat on the board, and was able to push one corner of it down more with my thumb. Then the car started up just fine after that, but this was three months ago or so that happened.

So with that said, perhaps I need to get that zif socket resoldered onto the board of my ecu, I mean the ecu had replaced capacitors and looks to be in great condition.
