EcuFlash Launch Control

Its pretty obvious where this stuff is in ecuflash. Just make sure you have the setup bits turned on for the launch control items you want. CEL on knock should be already turned on with the regular ceddymods... if not then make sure it has the correct threshold you want and that its on in the setup bits. We can't turn it on for you, you have to open ecuflash and the rom and make the changes yourself and then flash it to your car. I hope this makes sense.

So your saying I didn't set it up correctly? Do I have to move files into another folder as in the hex setup, or are you saying they should be plain as day when I open Ecuflash and I just have to check the boxes to bring the maps etc up. If thats the case, I must have a different version, because when I open it the first thing I have is ROM Info then it goes to Timing.

If your ecuflash isn't similar to the attached photo then you're doing something wrong.

I can definately say its nothing like that haha.. Would it have to do with I grabbed the free version? I downloaded it before I got my flash cable to play with and never downloaded the $5 dollar donation one. I followed the step through process on the one thread on here and I flashed it multiple times so far. I may have did something wrong but I couldn't say where.

I don't have any CeddyMods or extras. It goes from the ROM info right to timing.

Wow Im special. Thanks for your help. I pulled the ecu out of the car and saved that and kept making changes to that and never initally flashed the CeddyMod file I downloaded into the car. My next question is what do the * mean next to some of the maps after their titles?

Glad you got it working. The asterisks signify which maps are NOT used IIRC, so the big maps on your reg rom should have that.

I'm sorry if Im agrovating, I'm just trying to understand so I dont brick the ecu haha. So any map with a * beside it isn't being used if flashed into the ecu? Every map in timing has an * beside it thats whats confusing me. Thanks for all your help I really appreciate it.

Long day haha

If I go in the set up bits and try changing the 0s to1s nothing happens. Is it because im not connected to the car? I should prob just start fresh tomorrow haha this is frustrating.

That's the timing maps, mine have asterisks beside them also but function perfectly. And you change 0's to 1's, do you flash to the ecu after making the changes? Is all you're trying to do is get stationary rev. limiter to work(aka launch control)?

Awsome that takes care of that then with the bits. Thanks for your help its much appreciated. I think for now im going to stick with what I was doing until I can find out more. I know my luck and I have a feeling as of now it wouldn't turn out too good.

No, the launch control isn't my sole purpose. I just saw people talking about it and when watching Ecuflash walkthroughs saw it and was wondering what was different about my version. So the asterisks don't really mean anything then? What if I dont have the big maps will the computer still fallow ex. high octane fuel maps 1 and 2? I know theres some funky data displayed in the big maps for me (I'm assuming because there not purchased) I just dont want to mess the car up by being uneducated.

I meant that as a question for the 0's and 1's, but yes that's how they work anyways :p As far as the high octane and low octane fuel maps are concerned yes. When you purchase big maps, all that section will be unlocked and the regular fuel maps/timing maps will be jumbled together.

idk if this is too old for someone to respond or not but i flashed my ecu with just the launch controll and i have all the bits on,but i noticed in this picture that the launch controll AFR is set to 0 is that going to make a big difference cause i have a 1 in that section meaning its enabled. Plus ever since i flashed ceddy mods my car seems to run richer just from doing only the launch control. right at start up it almost hesitates and will go to like 10.2 for a second and slowly move down to 14.7 on my WB. any input?
