So before I get all my components together for my build, I just need some info. about ECU tuning and modds.

I am looking between Crower 280/280 or 288/288 cams. Both require ECU modds, how can this be done? I was told you need megasquirt and stuff but I won't be running a turbo right after my build, I will let my car run in N/A for about 3000 miles, or 6 months or so, and then put in an FP green turbo. But I just want to know will I need to do anything with the ECU if I put in those Stage 2 or 3 cams? If so, how will I have to do that?

I wouldnt throw those cams in until you have all your supporting mods in place. Big cams require calibrating the ECU as the more lift and longer duration make the valve's stay open longer/close later/open at different times ect...

For instance..On a stock 2.0 at idle the normal AirflowPerRev is around .24-.26 grams/rev.

On my Kelford 280's my AFPR is around .36. If I calibrate my airflow any lower, my fuel trim's go way out of whack. This is on stock 450 injector's (break-in) with a deadtime of "0". Bigger cams create more airflow period. Your idle will need to be raised a good bit as well. I have my idle set at about 1050rpm.

Bottom line is you need ECU control. Your gonna need an EPROM either with a chip or Link/AEM.

For a FP Green, I wouldnt go with anything bigger than a 272/272 duration cam. Crower 280's and 288's are going cause you to loose the benefit's of a having a quick spooling turbo as the FPGreen is.

Stick with 272/272, Kelford's have proven well. Wait untill you have tuning capibilities and do everythign at once. Your built motor is nothing without a good tuning system.
