I was cleaning up a wiring hack job today from the previous owner on the ecu harness, I noticed pin 14 on the 24pin connector is empty, and it looks like it was re-pinned into pin 15 for egr? Pin 6 is there, although several wires have been cut and respliced. I also found out it might have a 1.8 head on it today if that makes a difference. Is there a reason someone moved it to 15 or is it a mistake. thanks.

pretty sure its a stock 1g maf, ill double check today. from what ive found it looks like it was just mis pinned.

Does anyone have a pinout for a 91? all I can find are for other years with different color wires than mine. I need to double check the location of all the wires. 91 talon tsi manual

one pin is MAF reset

another pin is for the idle position switch.

which is 6 and 14, depends on your ECU year...

if you've got the MAF with 6 wires, it's most likely an NA MAF, and does not have the MAF reset yet.

if you've got no idle position switch, you'd have some issue with decel and idle [surge?]...

It's a 7 wire, just pulled it out. I also just found out the turbo is undersized, the rubber intake hose is actually bigger than the turbo inlet. Wtf.

The problem is I bought this as my first dsm in not the greatest shape. I actually havnt even driven it yet and I'm just starting to tear it apart.

Ok I figured out I was looking at the plug wrong, the wires match up now. The p.o. must've done the same because pins 10 and 19 were cut, and if you start with pin 1 on the oppsite end they come in as 6 and 14. fixed.

By the way, in between the intake snorkel and the turbo inlet, there should be a thin rubber seal/ring about 1" wide and 0.1" thick.

Maybe this is missing, so you'd presume that the turbo was undersized...
