ecu question

i have a 93 nt car. i am swapping in a 91 turbo motor. the ecu is from an automatic car. will this effect me?

The auto turbo car has smaller injectors but higher fuel pressure so there's not a lot of difference. If you mismatch the auto and manual ecu, injectors, and fpr, your fuel trims will be off a little but that's not a big deal.

You will need to wire in a knock sensor on your car or your ecu will just assume knock and pull timing. If it is an eprom ecu you can set it to ignore the knock sensor, but that is a bad idea too unless using racegas or E85.

You will need to tune out some ignition advance since your nonturbo engine has more compression. You could get by for now by adjusting the cas to retard timing or do it the right way and have an eprom tuned for it (if you have an eprom ecu).

thanks bro hey do you know what size or type of wire to use to add the necessary wires i need to convert my nt harness to turbo. im going to be doing tackling that project tomarow

Your wire harness is fine. You just need the knock sensor.

12-14 gauge wire will be fine for the injectors but the knock sensor gets a shielded wire. You want something like a microphone wire for it. (I haven't done it so I can't give a reference.)
