Good evening everyone, I have installed an ECU with ECMLINK V3 in it (part number: MD166262) in my 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX with the latest firmware and the ECU seemed to be working properly although my idle was stuck at 2000 rpm. I then re-installed the original ECU that came with my car and the car has not been running right (it was running perfectly fine before I installed the ECU with ECMLINK V3), it runs as if I still have the ECU with ECMLINK V3 still installed in it and my idle is still stuck at 2000 rpm and when I press the throttle it gets stuck at whatever rpm I send it to. I have already tried disconnecting the battery over night to try and reset the ECU but this did not help/work. I have read that attaching the negative and positive cable terminals is a good way to reset the ECU and control modules. So, I was thinking about going this route along with a hard reset option outlined by ECMLINK (here is the link: https://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/v3hardreset) but, would like to try and get advice before doing so, any suggestions? Also, if this post is not allowed for any reason I apologize in advance.

Check your throttle cable for kicks and giggles. Sounds like a physical problem more than an electronic one.
Thanks for the feedback, I will take a look but, do you by any chance know if swapping ECU's can alter mechanical/physical settings? because, the car was running perfectly fine until I swapped ECU's.

I'd generally say no, but it's possible the other ecu had a different time or an issue that affected a sensor.
Stuff also wears out too and it can do so at coincidental times. I'd check all of the basic things that can cause a high, sticking idle.
