2G Ecu Help Shorted rear O2 sensor when cutting it

Alright, so We were doing the rear o2 mod. While cutting the wires under the seat, one wire was being cut and nicked another. small electrical smell and car won't run. safc shows a 3 for karmen sensor with no movment and 100% on the throttle with very little throttle being pushed????????? Need a new ecu or what?????????????????????

You should disconnect your battery when your cutting wires. What wires were you cutting? I would check all the fuses.

Im not an electrical genius, but more than likely you shorted something out. The cheapest and smarted way to go about your problem here, would be to take your car and just have the ecu diagnosted. Not too expensive, and would be a good investment to save your butt. Good luck with it bro, and if it is a new ecu that you need, they are a dime a dozen. Cya, Artist.

He has a 95, which means that he likely has an Eprom ECU. Those definitely aren't a dime a dozen. I wish they were, though.

What is the difference between eprom and non eprom??

The Eprom is a type of chip that is eraseable and rewriteable, if I'm not mistaken. You need an Eprom ECU to run things such as DSMLink. In 2g cars, they were ONLY available on the 95 GST/GSX/TSI models. So anyone with a 96-99 that wants to run DSMLink or anything else that requires an Eprom ECU is always looking out for them. This is why they are big junkyard finds.
