95 tsi fwd o2 sensor wires shorted need help

Let's see what you guys think about this.
My buddy has a 95 tsi fwd
The PO did a hell of a hack job on the o2 sensor wires (sensor side), and all the wires shorted together, witch caused the sensor ground trace to short out. I personally replaced the front o2 sensor with a good used one from my car (after I installed wide band, had extra one). Then I fixed the trace in the ecu.
The car now starts and stays running and is drivable, but when you go to get on it, it cuts out. We are at a stump in the road with this.
Where should we start looking? Thanks again!

Is it grounded to pin 92 on the ecu? You can compare wiring from this link and see if wiring was done correctly

What do you mean with it cuts out?.

Give us more details, also we need to know what are the mods, is it stock?.

If you have a wideband, what it reads when it cuts out?..

We need more informations than just cuts out.

Alright it has a tdo5 Turbo, I want to say that it is a16g
fmic
WheaponR intake
Apexi prospecB boost controller (maybe it got reset'd, his battery was dead a couple times this week from not driving it.)
No power steering
Has a/c
Full exhaust
FP manifold
And it only has a narrow band witch is useless ( but he says it quit working the other day)
Im going to run the codes next time I see him.

Its like the coils aren't up to par, kind of cut out. It never has had this problem befor. and if I'm not mistaken it is when he trys to boost it. I know there is allot of possibilities to this but I'm thinking that it is an electrical issue.

Ill get more details from him tomorrow. I wish he would just join the forum and make life easier.

Before you do anything to it,...

Do a boost look.

With the 16G and a boost leak will get fuel cut with high boost, so do a boost leak first then go give a try,,, If you see a very, very very little leak, fix it first before trying it, a tiny leak will give you a headache.

I don't think a front o2 sensor would cause your issue with my car before i welded a new bung in my down pipe for my wide band i ran my car with no o2 sensors and yes it would go in and out of closed loop at will and cause me to run really rich at 55mph like 11.1 rich BUT i had no other issues car still ran fine.

Resolved. Ground trace in the ecu shorted. Fixed the ground trace, but there was still problems. He ended up just changing out the ecu. Thanks everyone for your advice...
