Ok, heres my idea. Wiring up a Hi/Lo Boost Controller Switch: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/220530-how-make-switch-street-race-boost-high-low.html and the switch would be the Eco/Pwr Button that came on the Automatics. Now, there are 5 wires total on the switch, and I wanted to make sure Im going to hook this up right:

Can someone confirm this setup will work? In my head I have it set up so while the switch is up, the stock BCS is being powered by the 12v from the battery/fusebox, and when its pushed down, the 12v connection is broken and the BCS loses power and returns to my pre-set boost level on the MBC.

Ill tell you what I did on my car.

I took the Econ/PWR switch out from its housing, and clicked it on Power and stuck in back out of the way inside the console. I did not bother the wiring on it at all.

Then I went and pulled another Econ/PWR switch out of a car in the junkyard. I installed this switch in the original factory location. I used it as a switch for my boost controler and it looks completly factory. Econ mode is 10psi and PWR is 20+psi. Just wire it directly to your boost controler and to a power source.

Super easy and clean install.

I used an old twist style wiper switch, and have three boost settings: 1) 7psi, 2) 7psi only in 1st and 2nd gear 20psi in all other gears, and 3) 20psi in all gears.

I have a five speed and I put a brake switch button on my shift linkage under the console to control the two stage.

I think I forgot to mention I have a 5 speed, so I would need to hardwire the switch to work, would the way I drew it up work? Jimmy I kinda have an idea of what you did but Im a tad foggy on why you have 2 eco/power buttons...

I think he has two so he can have a boost switch, and have his automatic transmission work as if it was never tampered with.

Ah I see, yea, Im just trying to figure out how to incorporate the ECO/PWR button as my HI/LO boost controller, seems simple enough but I just want to make sure my wiring is correct so I dont have any shorts or any fun experiences like that haha

When you get this to work it should be awesome. :thumb: I'm planing on doing something similar when I finally get around to my plans. Was hoping to wire it in so that the "power" light on the dash lights up for high boost setting.

I would draw a diagram now but I am at work and I don't have Photoshop, only GIMP, which is a PITA. You would be creating a short the way you drew that. The best thing to do is just use your foot to save gas. This will only change maximum boost.

Trust me, I hypermile everywhere in my car, its getting like 17.5mpg right now, I have to check my timing later but I thought this would be a cool idea to incorporate both ideas and actually have that button do something other than just sitting there looking pretty. If you could draw up a diagram for me later I would greatly appreciate it and would wire this up asap.

im not what you really would call "electrically inclined", Im just waiting for feedback on how to properly wire this up since you kind folks have told me it will cause a short in my design. How should it be wired so that it would work correctly without a short?

I really don't want to make a drawing of what it should be like because I like to draw with what pins are in the actual location and I really have no idea because I don't have one of those switches. Is this a car where you swapped a manual into it? The solenoid leaks off boost and allows the turbo to boost more. It's never a good idea to run a MBC with a boost control solenoid anyway. If you're not that electronically enclined I would just get one of the Hallman boost controllers that let you adjust the boost inside the cabin.

No my car has been a manual all its life, just found the button at my local Pick n Pull and popped it in there in leu of the coin holder ours come with stock. I would stick my mbc in the cabin but it seems like it would cause a bit of a lag in my acceleration since the vacuum lines would have to be about 12' total to reach. I just thought I could combine that Hi/Lo boost switch with the stock button, but if it is harder to add the switch, ill just use a regular illuminated on/off switch from radio shack and ditch the eco/pwr button all together. But it seems like it would be possible to do this and get it to work properly. I can do basic wiring, just not complicated things.

I'll pull out the electrical manual tomorrow when I have a bit of time and I'll see if I can sort that out for you.

Not sure how well this setup will work with an MBC and stock BCS but I guess its worth trying, won't really cost you anything.

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone had possibly made any progress with this? Right now Im just putting around on stock 7psi but am wondering if we could ever get this to actually work.
