Got a 92 turbo awd. Engine runs real rough, with little power. Starts fine just runs rough like it's not firing right. The CEL is on and the code is 41 which I understand has something to do with the injectors. What should I check??

Yesterday, I was checking different connectors (unplugging and plugging back in), I reset the ECM and it started running fine. Then this afternoon, it started acting up again. The CEL came back on with the same code 41. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have no idea what to check next...

OK, so the service manual says "check the coil resistance". Does this mean the Ignition coil? Help please... anyone...

Well it's finally fixed. It was a bad #2 injector. The injector failure was intermittent. I finally figured out the pattern. The car had to be warmed up, then it had to sit for between 30-90 minutes for the coil to be bad. If the car sat overnight, it would be OK or if you just stopped and restarted while it was warm... Wierd. Anyway, I measured listened (with a toy stethescope from my kids doctor kit) and could hear that the #2 injector sounded different. The others had a distinct clicking sound while the bad one did not. Then I measured the coil resistance and it was open. The other injectors measured in spec, between 2-3 ohms. I replaced the bad injector and all is well now! :thumb:

It took a while, but thanks for the help.

Hey... thanks for posting an update! I've been having the same issue today and your post helps a lot!

I didn't have to let the car sit and heatsoak. In my case it was injector #1 that would go open once it got hot. Let the car cool a bit and it would work again. That was just the excuse I'd been waiting for to get bigger injectors.

Glad you found the problem.
