When I was in Japan, all the turbo 2G's I found were badged as GSR-4 and had metric gauges (of course the steering wheel is still on the USDM side, which was awkward  ) I was just wondering, if I get my hands on the metric gauge cluster would it be hard to install it in my 2g?

I don't understand the motivation to put a metric meter in.
However, the first step that I would take is to compare the speedometer on both units to see it the KM/h marks on your current speedometer line up with the marks on the GSR-4 speedometer.

Is the GSR-4 emblem the same as the GSX emblem font and location wise? just different letters? Any pics?

The euro eclipses have euro tail lights, orange sidemarkers on the fenders, euro mirrors that fold in, metric dash, the gsr-4 emblem instead of gsx, and its right hand drive. I'm not sure if they have any other differences, these are just the ones I know of.

I'm not sure if the metric gauge cluster would work, you might need the metric speed sensor as well.

Also I believe GSR stands for "Grand Sport Racing" I'm guessing the 4 stands for 4-wheel drive.

DSMs were never RHD.. no matter the country.

As for metric gauges, we get them in Canada too :thumb:

The previous owner was a moron and painted all the trim in the interior white (which was an easy enough fix) but he also painted on the gauge cluster (moron) so I was going to replace it anyways. I have no problem reading metric and along with GSR-4 badges my D32 would be JDM :p

I also never saw a 2GB in Japan, I saw a few 2GA's and that was awesome enough. Did Japan get the 2GB? I have no idea :D

Ummm, Japan didn't get eclipses. Only America, Taiwan, and Canada got em. :thumb:

i seen a 2G eclipse in Japan (possibly 95-96 model) but it was still badged as "eclipse" maybe it was imported ### i would only catch glimpses of it and i never got the chance to talk to the owner...

Where was that made? In Japan or in Illinois? I am confused.

I'm sorry to come and rain on your parade, but the Metric system is much more accurate than the Standard one!!!

Not necessarily more accurate persay but most definitly easier to use and comprehend.
In this case: 10>12...WTF :thumb:

I'd much rather have 1litre of juice than a half gallon from the stupid, fat americans.

SOoo... any idea where I could get one of those sweet GSR-4 emblems?? Wait... nevermind, I don't have a GSX so that would be inaccurate I am guessing. Maybe the GST version was just galled GSR?

AHHH!
:beatentodeath:

As would I, I was just being argumentative.

You didn't rain on anything. You just misread what I wrote. :toobad:

I was not doubting the inaccuracy of the metric system. I was saying that we live in America and utilize the Standard system. Therefore it would make life easier to have things mainly corresponding with that Standard system.

Also that gauge cluster could easily be inaccurate if the speed sensor or the positioning of the gauge is different.

The gauge cluster is the thing item in question. I don't know where you got off on thinking that I was comparing the two systems in any way. :|
