Well I'm picking up a used 14b tomorrow and I'm not really looking to spend $190 on an install kit so I'm plannin on makin a kit and possibly buying this j-pipe.

My question is about the boost source on the J-pipe. I've noticed on original 1g j-pipes the nipple is actually up on the bend of the J-pipe pretty close to the turbo. Is this spot too far away for a good source? I'm thinking it should be exactly the same I just don't want to buy something that isn't gonna work.

I was looking at this pipe just for the fact that it also comes with the hard lower piping. I haven't seen a j-pipe that I wasn't going to have to hack up my lower piping to make work. I'm open to suggestions on other pipes or kits on the markets.

The closer to the compressor housing the better.

However that doesn't really look too bad to me. I like how they bunged the pipe if you want to plug it.

A lot of people run their tap for the MBC way further away than that, Teeing off the IM. I wouldn't be hesitant to run that Jpipe.

I got this one. Eclipse Talon Laser 2G TURBO Install Kit:eBay Motors (item 190320764156 end time Aug-09-09 17:51:10 PDT) That looks the same, omitting the oil line and fittings. It should line up just fine. For the J pipe to L pipe, you will need a 2"-2.25" coupler and get some T-bolt clamps.

The nipple location does not make a difference.

Thanks guys I actually looked around and extremepsi.com sells just about the same kit except with all fittings and clamps albeit more expensive. After examining their picture the nipple is in the exact same location so I figured it would be fine.

this J PIPE kit is just fine , tried and tested before and its good , however make sure its not hitting your Radiator FAN , it did before with me and i had to cut it short and weld it again.
