I went cheaper yet, $12 cone filter, $9 FAQ/J.C. Whitney intake. That will free up money for a decent MBC and a used 1G BOV.

DO THE FREE MODS.
If you are really budget minded do the free mods on this site or Vfaq.com, port the O2 housing, and exhaust manifold. Buy a boost guageYOU MUST DO THIS WHEN YOU TURN UP THE BOOST. and a MBC.

thanks for all the input guys, as far as free mods and such, im going to a level of just skipping them(clean smic--just bought fmic with short route piping, bcs mod--just ordered joe p) mainly i just wanted to know if there was a down side to these cheaper ebay hardpipe intakes, so i appreciate everyone who has had experience with these input's
