I went 12.1 @ 112 when I had my 16g on and the car weights 3400 pounds with me in it.

Plus i'd feel pretty crappy if i had a big turbo and I got smoked by a 16g car
.I agree, your right, 2gs/vr4s are heavy, not everyone does weight reduction, not everyone beats the shit out of there car at the track. My point is, at the end of the day all of that is excuses. Your either fast or your not.
I hear all these high 16g h.p. numbers etc, but hell when I look thru different times lists, like dsmtimes.org for example, looking at the 16g times the majority of the times are 13s and slower. I hate to see that when more people could be running faster times in these cars, especially with all the people whos claiming 300+ awhp, theres probably only a couple of people in this thread thats been 11s on a 16g, much less 11s on a 14b like Pneumo.
Maybe these type of threads should emphasize more focas on what times have you/ can you pull off with your car and work on making it faster. Im just saying maybe theres too much focas on only dyno numbers. But once again I could just be completely rambling because I just woke up so nevermind me...
I think a lot of people that run 16gs upgrade well before they have gotten the most out of them. A lot of the lower power cars probably dont have extensive timing/fuel control and arent running very high boost(22psi+) Obviously a nice set of cams will help quite a bit but can be done without
I can see why people say use the 16g to its full potential then upgrade to see the greatest gains but there is some gray area there. Who determins the 16g's potential when there are people making over 400hp on these, its attainable but nearly inefficent as a street car. where as switching to a larger turbine makes for a much more streetable setup.

Yep, I've learned to accept that whenever I take my car to the dyno something will cause it not to put down it's full power... or the thing just won't dyno where it should be. I think my car is afraid of them.
HP numbers are good for talking about, but the whole setup (car, power, driver) is what matters the most IMO. And making it all work as a whole!
