, about the same time the car nosed down violently and the loud thud occurred I quickly yanked it back into drive as she coasted to a near stop in the middle of the road. At this point I have a choice, look at her with a blank stare or laugh my ass off, I chose the latter. She said she thought you needed to push the button to get it to change gears, which is true, mostly. She was all revved up and ready to go, that sucker got slammed forward with excitement..
Then I wouldn't let her drive it again.
Oh man, 5500 rpm into reverse and you both still have all your teeth and unbruised foreheads?! Great story.

So with the box on does the tranny still shift hard in drive? Or because you have it turned on you have to shift it your self?
Yeah, I'm kinda curious and a bit concerned with the manual downshifting from how it was previously described as "violent". I guess we'll see when it's in. Anyone else who's currently using it have any experiences to share?Ok, so basically this is the RMT mod, just finally retailed in a nice package. Am I correct? This essentially allows the AT to change gears without the delay/inaccuracy inherent in just doing it by hand without the mod? That's how I understand the RMT mod works.

staticbrainwash said:Maybe i'm way off base here, but i thought manual shifting our at dsm's wasn't a good thing. Or does this finally allow us to do just that? I guess i don't totally understand how this works.
staticbrainwash said:Also, with it engaged and you upshift through the gears is it possible once in D to turn it off and let the car downshift itself?
Has anybody received a copy of the revised install instructions yet?
