Ebay 16g rebuild kit

I picked up 2 16g turbo rebuild kits off of relentless_performance on ebay. I was anticipating it would be a cheap kit. The many other encounters i have had with ebay sellers have been pretty awful. In this case, I sent him an offer, he responded immediatly. I got the kit within a few days. This kit actually works on authentic EVO 1, 2, and 3 turbos. Every other kit i purchased from other sellers needed to be sent back because it was only for ebay turbos (make sense right?). Great 2 kits, the turbos i rebuilt have no shaft play and and everything appears to be quality. I would recommend him for any sort of rebuild kits. Here is a link to the kit i purchased.

Does the 16g come factory on 1g or am i wrong?

your wrong, the 1g manual came with a 14b and the autos had a 13g

Yea 14b that's what it was so is the 16g smaller than the t25 if so good for low rpm power cause it spool faster right? Or wrong again

The 16g (Small/Big version) spools a little slower than a T25, but produces much more airflow.

The Small does spool a few hundred rpm faster than either of the Big variants.

Yeah, that was more of a general statement. My Small with a pretty aggressive tune on E85 would hit 20psi+ around 3k rpm. They spool like a 14b.

So i bought a 97 tsi with engine knock and i removed intake to check the spool and there is zero shaft play in or out up or down does that seem weird since it has 146,000 could it be a replacement or do they last that long on stock boost

Those look a lot like Kamak kits from a long time ago- perhaps a shop had a shitload of them and sold them out; then again if they're truly a XS Power product like the listing states, they could be complete garbage.

I would- nothing else they ever produced was worth it's own weight in shit. Just another distributor of fine Chinese performance parts.

I figured the same, but i like experimenting, and i was fairly suprised at the quality. Although the kit will not work on 14b and BIG 16gs. It will only work on EVO I II II 16gs.

I don't know where you're coming up with that- Big 16G and Evo III 16G's use the same parts kits. Either that or I've been doing it wrong for the past 8 years.

I tried using the turbine seal off a evo 3 16g on the big 16g and it would not fit, the seal was too thick.
