The article makes it sound like that owner created the name ESR, which is why you haven't heard of it. Also, 'The "esi" stood for economy sport inline.' and 'This is where keeping the "e" and add an "R" comes into play as it is the 420a ESI motor tuned for Racing.' So he came up with Economy Sport Racing (ESR)
