E85?

So can you he just install 750's with a 190 @ 43.5 psi, and the car still "runs" fine, or will it need that fine tune, because e85 lets you run leaner to avoid knock right?

Nice avatar knoch, dead sexy

It will still need to be tuned. e85 is more resistant to knock and will allow you to safely run more timing. It's like a cheap version of race gas. I've played with it before. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask or PM me to avoid cluttering the thread. Jayson

Hi,

you can just install bigger injectors and you will be fine. (30-35% more than stock as knochgoon24 has said)

You will have a much better knock sum... but with such a setup you don't use the potential of E85.
Do get your ECU tuned for E85. You can drive much more aggressive ignition timings and on idle a much leaner mixture then with standard fuel.
If you use a customized ECU setup you can also use bigger injectors to have a little bit more "back up" for more tuning... ;)

Adding to a thread isn't cluttering it up, it gives other people a chance to learn too. Please share with us?:thumb:

It all depends on your goals. People looking for big horsepower run way over 1000cc (like 1600cc) just becuase you need to be able to push that extra fuel, but with that big of injectors you need a big fuel pump. We need to know what your future goals are to be able to better help you with injector size.

And of course share with us all the info you can e85_4g63, I would like my E85 questions to be answered as well!

i am building a gsx and i am planning on around 400-500hp hx40 or so size turbo my questions is. the car will be a track car but at times i may need to drive it to the track. is there any issues with driving it on e85 for say a kinda extended period of time. I i have ffwd fuel kit, and 255lph pump. injectors thinking pry 1000cc+

Well I'm sort of a newbie I guess you'd say> I've only been running/tuning cars on e85 for about 2 years now. Ask away... LOL

Main things I would worry about / do:

> Get a good fuel pump, wally 255 high pressure is a great choice
> Get overly large injectors, personally I wouldn't bother with anything less then 1000cc injectors, but keep in mind that an injector larger then about 1300 to 1400cc is hard to get to idle with pump gas.
> You need to tune your car accordingly. Every car is different and responds differently to e85 from my experience.
> Change your fuel filter! e85 has a way of cleaning up your fuel system for you. Don't forget to do this often, more so when you first change over to e85. typically on a 1g, it's comon to see the filter become almost completely clogged within 1000 miles after initially changing over. I like to replace the factory fuel filter with a 10 micron s/s filter, with NO banjo bolt ends. I personally like the Earl's style that you can see into.

That's it for now, anything else please feel free to ask!
