Ive gotten about 35 miles after my light went on, and havent pushed it any further since . Although my gas guage/ light can be bipolar sometimes.

My gas light doesn't work, but I've gotten 40-50 city miles after the "e" line....i pushed it too far though! I ended up coasting into the gas station driveway, and pushing it [in heels,ugh] up to the pump.

I managed to make it a week with less then a quater tank.. I had no idea if my light worked either until my gas guage went an 1/8 or more lower then E. Then my light came on.. So when Im around an 1/8 on the guage I know I have about a 1/4 tank left

My light comes on at about 12.5 gallons. I have driven for a week with the gas light on before, without as much as a hiccup from the motor.

Yea I know my 420A can go at least a week with the light on!

My 2g can get 30ish miles with the light on. I had the light come on late one night and had to get home because nowhere was open, next morning I go to put in gas and get smokes, 11 miles to station, 11 miles home, 11 miles back to the station.... had forgotten my wallet.

Just go its only 20 miles, and you dont have a fuel light on i woulda allready left why are you still posting? Thats how my car looked when i first bought it, and there was like quarter tank. When i took it to the gas station, and filled it up with in 20 mins mt fuel gauge worked again.

The first step to fixing anything is to figure out what's wrong with it. I think that's standard knowledge that comes with being human, but I stated it just in case.

Here's a few ideas to get you started.....

• See if the bulb is out.
• If the gas gauge doesn't work, then the float in the gas tank might be stuck.
• You might not be even getting the tank low enough for the light to come on.
• Are you surpassing 400 miles on each tank?

Man, you guys sure like to push it. Anytime I put gas in the GSX, I always fill it up. I usually try to keep it above a half tank.

Old thread I know.
But I was searching because this is bothering me.

My gas light comes on as soon as I hit the 4th line on the gas gauge, which is just about 250ish miles.
It use to go all the way to the bottom line before the light came on.

What I have done that could have effected it?
1)Installed new fuel pump with rewire (Aeromotive stealth 340lph)
2)Drilled siphon to 1/8"
3) replaced burned out bulbs on back of gauge cluster

When I had the entire fuel assembly out of the tank and wired in I held the assembly as if it was sitting in the fuel tank and turned the key on to see if the needle on the gauge cluster would go to E. With the float all the way down, it did not make the fuel gauge needle go below the 4th line on the gauge cluster.

Bring'en it back from the dead dont want to start a new thread. I have been only able to squeeze a max of 11gal into my 95tsi awd With the E light on. Is there any difference in tank sizes ? Only reason i ask is i have 1/16 tank left light has not come on yet and Ino it works. My towns e85 station is out and they are not sure when they will be getting a shipment in. The nearest station is 25miles from here Im getting roughly 14mpg with E85 So id like to know if 16.5 gal is the capacity of our tanks . If so that would leave me with roughly 6gals left should be more then enough to make it.
