Welllll technically reverse is a direction

Yar its a direction as well. Its also a gear in the transmission, or speed.... not exactly what the guy ment but NICE eye on the whole sarcasm thing there bud.

Today on my way to a job interview this civic revs on me. So instead of shifting as I was about to do, I kicked it hit full boost and blow his doors off. I stopped to fill up at the next gas station, and he rolls around in front of me and then parks.

Him - "Hey man nice Eclipse"
Me- "Its a Talon but, whatever."
Him - "Why did you put these turbo stickers on the side when its not turbo"
Me- "Well it is turbo... "
Him- "Naw Cant be bromandude you aint got no intercooler and I didnt hear no blow off valve"
Me- "Whatever dude, its got a sidemount and the stock BOV"
Him - "Laughs, Yeah right whatever kid"

Amazing how stupid some of them are... He got about 3 inches from the hole in my from bumper looking for an intercooler....
 
last summer a kid in a 2g n/a parked next to me at the mall. He asked if i wanted to be in a car club, i said no. So he went on to ask me what my mods were and how fast my car was. I didn't say much, didn't want to talk to him. Then he goes on to tell me he is the fastest guy in his club and pretty soon he is getting a turbo kit for his car and will be running 30 lbs of boost, no engine mods other than the turbo. He finished the conversation with. I'll race you when i get it back from the shop. Ummm. Ok.

One of my buddies back from high school was trying to argue with me about my gst having a turbo. He insisted that a 4 cylinder can't run a turbo, "it'll blow up the motor" smh... offcourse he drives a mustang not a dsm'r
 
I work at Autozone so I get the BSers all the time. This kid came in the other day with a somewhat stock auto 2g GST. I got to talking to him for a little bit. He was there with his gf. He told me it's the third trans he had in the car because it was putting down sooo much power the trans couldn't hold it. I looked over the car. He had an un-recirc GReddy Type-rs, paceshitter exhaust mani, stock t-25, stock exhaust to pepboys muffler. He was like I'm trying to sell it I'd like to get atleast 5500 for it. I bit my tongue the whole time because I'm a manager, but outside of work would've been different.
 
hey, They do weigh a lot, but doesnt take much for those to be quick either. stock I think is a mid 13. IIRC

Oh I know, I would love to have the beautiful VR4 my 60 year old neighbor has sitting in his garage that he NEVER drives! :ohdamn:
I was just being sarcastic with the girl because she was trying to BS me.
 
A kid with a 99 n/a 4G64 spyder came into the store I work at, yesterday. He said that his timing belt broke and bent some valves. He spent $2000 getting it running again, then told me he was going to sell it. I asked how much he wanted for it. He said $7500. My jaw hit the floor.

I explained to him that around here, the 2G AWD 4G63's are going for around $3500, so he shouldn't expect more than $2500-$3000. His response, which I will remember til the day I die was... "yeah, but I got the spyder. I'd rather buy a convertible than AWD turbo any day!"
 
Spend some more time in a convertible. You might change your mind. Certainly it gets more girls.

Also the convertibles tend to hold value relatively well and are often on par with awd cars because people outside of the DSM world are interested in them.
 
I got a text from a fellow N/T owner that I know. I already posted one of the dumb things he said before. His trans blew a few weeks back so I text him to see if he got the car back on the road yet.

This is his exact reply, "for the next two weeks im forgettin bout her it makes me sad but shes getting a new heart and solee. I got a new engine in 2 weeks and trans! dude eagle rods and pistons polished cylinders port and polished head 3 angle valve job arp head studs commetic head gasket aem oversized cams and aem adjustable cam gears. Engine will have 230 plus 15 pounds of boost from my t4 turbo ill have 460-480hp it going to be rediculusss."

This is from a 17 year old with no job at the moment.

I text him back knowing the the above, "Oh yea, getting all that in 2 weeks?"

His reply, " No, just the engine and trans for now, but the rest is coming soon as I get a job its only going to be 3200."
 
Everyone knows Evo's come in in RS, GSR, or MR trims right? I was out at the drag strip yesterday, and I saw this Rally Red evo VIII, I looked at the owner and asked "GSR?" He looks at me, gave me that 0_o look, and said "Its an Evo"(Like I called it a Honda, pssh) LOL, I nodded my head and repeated straight faced "GSR?" he stares at me, and just nodded, LOL, I rolled my eyes and walked away.
 
as i am changing out the valve cover on my friends galant for a uncracked painted one, i hear him say:

"my dipstick is so stupid. it never registers any oil."

at the time i was involved in the project so i wasn't really listening to him. and it was a silly comment so i didn't respond.
he calls me an 20 min after he leaves my garage and says his car just died and wont start.

he ran the engine dry of oil in the winter cause it was too cold to check the dipstick. the block was a mess. NEVER TRY REBUILDING A BLOCK THAT DIED FROM OIL STARVATION.
it was impossible to remove all the metal filings from the oil channels, but i thought we did.
new bearings and new turbo died immediatly when we turned the key after the rebuild. fresh oil pressure pushed all the remaining metal chunks into the new pieces.

Every ricer uses "stages" for everything. That is absolutely retarded and I will never buy from a company that uses "stages" in their products' names.
 
Caged, cammed, upgraded Evo X owner at work was bragging about how fast it was and getting it tuned, blah blah blah. I ask "How you do you like the 4B11? I don't think it'll ever be as popular as the 4G63." his answer, "I love it! It's way faster than the turbo that was on it when I bought the car." Find out he gave the keys to a shop and told them how much power he wanted and picked it up a few weeks later without asking any questions about what they had done. So lame.
 
a guy I went to school with tried telling me that only turbo model dsms came with the little bump in the hood (rolling eyes)

LOL i have heard that also, but i have only seen 1 1g that didnt it was a 1.8 i have never seen another since.

Yeah I think the 90-91 1.8L Did not have "teh power bulge" then in 92 they just ditched the whole making separate hoods thing.

I was replacing my old worn out shifter with the rebuilt one I had in the previous talon and this mustang driver that lives in my building asked me if I was putting a chip in my car...

I told him yes and told him if he knew anyone that wanted a chip I charged $100-$250 depending on the vehicle. He asked for my number.

Now I wonder if it is illegal to put those resistor in a box chips in cars as long as I never actually claim it will increase their horsepower.
 
ok, so I'm cruisin in my 95 tsi awd, at about 60 mph, come up on a 3g eclipse with a fart can exhaust. naturally I do what any other turbo owner would do... I got up next to him and picked on him, gave a rev or 3 hit third and took off. when I got in front of him to my surprise he had a fmic. I ran into him at a local taco bell so I asked him "so is your 420a turbocharged?" he said no, to that I said WTF??? I then asked the next question, "why do you have a front mount intercooler"? he said "oh that thing... it looks cool" and proceeded to tell me how I needed to get one to make my car look cooler:ohdamn:
