Just finished a evo 3 16g/fmic install on my 97 Gst and now my power steeling belt is screaming like crazy and needs to be replaced, its getting pretty old now. Every website i have gone to wants to sell me a power steering pump and not the belt. If anyone has any info about where I can buy the belt and/or the part number would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

You are looking for a belt that is 695mm long or roughly 27.4 in. long.

Part numbers from Autozone include 5040274, 274K4, 275K4; it is NBH 25040274 from NAPA; from O'Reilly, they are K040274 or K040274RB for a special blue belt; 274K4 or 5040274 from Advance; or MD310617 from the dealer or supporting vendors who supply OEM parts.

I was about to say the same thing...iirc the dsm only has 2 belts...many pulleys share a single belt...try looking for serpentine belts instead of power steering belts...should solve your problem.

you can also hold a bar of soap on the contact side of the belt to stop it from squealing on your way to autozone or where ever you're going to get the new one...just make sure it has a moisturizer in it.

The 4G63 engines have 3 accessory belts and 2 timing belts, originally. The accessory belts are the air conditioner, water pump and alternator, and power steering.

Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it. Just got a new one from autozone (took 3 days to order it) and installed it just yesterday. All I need to do know is find out why I cant get abover 5k rpm :(.
