So hmm...its been extremely quiet here in our Regional section of TOONERS...where the hell is everyone at, status of builds, issues with DSM's. What happened to all the new DSM'ers. I'd like to see some progress. Oh an the guy that has the black 1g thats been passed around, how did things go with getting your dad to register the 1g in I think "Maine"?

Oh a lil update from me:

Got 4 more months left on this deployment, I have a few more parts in my possession (2g mas, E3B16g), found out all 91 and 92 GVR4's came with Eprom's unless they were swapped out at dealerships due to CAP's leaking (I hope mines still has an Eprom), Im about to pick up some FIC Bluemax 1450cc Injectors up from a GVR4 forum. Well thats it for now. Gotta get me a FMIC w/hard piping, AFPR, complete exhaust, and ECMlink which could be purchased now but imma just wait until I get back to AK to make sure I still have an Eprom, then send it in. Im looking at hitting the ground running once I get back and hopefully have the stock 2.0 with 16g and the rest of the bolt ons completed and running within that first month of being back. Gotta spend more time with my girl's or else it would be done in a week.

Pretty much I want to do a complete rebuild cause of the guy who had this before me did not take care of it.I've had trouble finding a DSM dealership though. Any suggesttions? I've heard of underground performance but haven't checked it out yet.

Welcome, start by doing alot of research, Stanley Motors closed down and only have a service shop off of spenard and international...im not gonna bad mouth underground because i havent dealt with them specifically, but i know of ppl that have had issues with them...another shop is P3ia which is up in the Valley, Seth is a really cool dude, and he hooks it up...he got Usnshaft (John)'s 1g back up and running after his timing belt snapped. Seth will be tuning my GVR4.

Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it. I'm mostly just looking for parts without having to order all the time but I know that is a slim chance. :p Although I can imagine that there is stuff I can't accomplish by myself. Thanks for the feed back I'll keep these places in mind. Just to throw this out there. I hear a squealing noise from what I think is the starter every time I start my talon. Any ideas? I was told that the starter could have been installed wrong and the teeth to the gear could be grinding.

What up sharobious! Yeah, i finally got that :shhh: of an eclipse registered in NM. Good to go all season long now! :thumb: Was wondering why it has two AF guages in the pod tho? Was thinking about mounting them up somewhere else in the car to make it look cleaner. Dont know yet. Also bought the oil sending guage to swap out that old piece of junk sending unit. Things garbage. I want to know exactly how my oil pressure is doin. I havent really looked at it, but do you know if thats the stock turbo in it? I kinda wanted a lil bit more background info on it since u used to own it. Let me know whats up and be safe out there.

What up Lorenzo. Welcome to the DSM world. Your belt issue is either your belt is to tight or its worn and slipping and making a squealing sound. Also, it could just be the moisture now that its getting cold. Trust me, its not your starter grinding teeth ### your car would sound alot worse if it was! Thats just my experience from working on good ol american muscle. Still trying to learn these great DSM's!:hellyeah:

Awesome, I can't wait to see what you do to that car. Hmm 2 A/F gauges. I only had 1 in there but it was a narrowband with the ### laser light show...now I know glenn told me he picked up a wideband and put it in there...so maybe thats the other one...well when i had it it was the stock 14b turbo...pretty sure glenn didnt swap that out. If you really want so knowledge of the car and its previous owners, contact Shaggie on AKMS, he was the OG owner of the car back in the day.

Yea you might wanna get the laser show outta there...that widebands good tho...i think its an AEM Uego...gauge...as for window tints...hit up Dr. Vinyl she hooks it up...and its not to expensive...idk about anywhere else...but i've heard good things about dr. vinyl...

Yea I'll have 3 builds going on in 2011...2 different cars, the vr4 will have 2 different motors, Im trying to max out the Evo 3 16g on a freshly rebuilt stock block, then drop the 2.3 stroker block in with an hx35, cams, and a everything else. Im gonna order an Intake mani...but dont know which 1 to go with...Im liking the Magnus Race 1 and they have it on sale right now. I will be breaking into the 10's and getting kicked off the track with a fullweight daily driver vr4...im still researching things here and there, noting other guys setups. I'll be back Feb 2011...im sure i'll have a cookout in the cold and get togethers if guys are wanting to give me a hand

This is my first all in build of a DSM motor, I've done builds on other makes mainly GM ever since middle school helping with 3rd gen camaros my father owned. Its not too hard to tear into engines, just takes time and common sense. This will be my first big build on my own. Everything else I have built, I had my dad and cousin in the mix. Im all for advice from guys that have alot more knowledge than me with the 4g63, and I have learned alot of info from a couple guys up here in AK.
 
I can't wait to see everyones ride when I get back to the AK. There are practically NO DSM's around here:( just rich kids with shop built evo's and sti's
 
Well my GS-T shredded it's timing belt today & it barely had 30,000 miles on it thats what you get from a NAPA timing belt so now it's at P3 hopefully I didn't bend the valves or damage the pistons.

This SUCKS & I start school tomarrow.Looks like I'll be driving the Equinox to school now.

Dang that sucks, looks like its time for the Gates timing belt and B/S delete if you havent already done it
 
Also does anybody know what happened to the Black 2g with a whole lot of HKS parts? I remember seeing it back in 08 a guy on base sold it to another guy. And the guy had problems with it at the track, the tune was bad. He would be on the 2 step and it would fall right on its face
 
Well I just ordered ECMlink V3 Full from SBR...for $459 shipped...pretty sure thats a hell of a deal
