Just wondering if anyone close to me has DSMLINK that would be willing to tune my car...and if you have an eprom that would be willing to sell I will buy from you there on the spot in order to get the car tuned. I have been wanting to get this done for along time now I just dont have the funds to get the DSMLINK. So PLEASE!!!! Can anyone help me out????? Sorry mods for posting the I'll buy the dsmlink in this thread but it's the only way I could get all the information in one spot.

And then what are you going to tune with?

I think you have the wrong impression of DSMLink. Any old EPROM is not going to work. You need a 2G EPROM, then you need to buy DSMLink, send the ECU to get socketed with the DSMLink chip, and have a computer/palm/laptop which can connect with the correct DSMLink software.

And just buying DSMLink from someone isn't that easy either. Every copy is registered with a user. You need to contact Tom Dorris upon a sale to change the registration to you so you have access to the dsmlink forums. Which is extremely valuable because it's a large community and great tech support.

Will the car not hold the tune if i were to buy an eprom from someone have them bring there DSMLink over and tune the computer and then be done with it thats what I'm trying to get across.

No.Dsmlink reqires a eprom ecu.You take out the stock eprom chip and put a dsmlink chip there in its place. It has a cable that goes to the obd port to your laptop. You use a laptop to tune the car with the dsmlink chip.So you cant use someone elses chip. You have to buy Dsmlink.

How do you edit the post haha its late here and Im tired. When yo buy the dsmlink do they sometimes come with a socketed ecu or do you have to send it in regardless

No,It does not you have to open up your ecu and see if it has the eprom in it or not.You most likly wont because it cam in the 96-96.If you dont then you have to buy an ecu on top of the dsmlink. So once you have an eprom ecu then you get it socketed and take the stock eprom chip out then put the dsmlink chip in.
