Best regards, Juan Luis.

Dsmlink is the best way to start learning about tuning. Its super easy to use and you can post a log up on dsmlink forums and they will tell you what you need to change. If not I heard Buschur can tune with dsmlink pretty good.

Im reading so hard the website of DSMLink and i got some questions more...I understood a bit the function of the DSMLink, you need to pick up the stock ECU and sent to ECMTuning, them install an EPROM on this ECU and resend back to you the ECU, install again the ECU and then use the cable on the stock diagnostic port located under the dash on a laptop, install the DSMLink program on the laptop with the CD...and now? :|

I didn't know where is the diagnostic port on my car, i never see nothing like this...could someone post me a pic showing where is this diagnostic port on the car? And finally installed the DSMLink program on the laptop and connected with the cable on the diagnostic port, what i have to do on the program? what i can modiify on this program? A/F Ratio? Looking for failures? :|

Im sorry if i being a bit stupid...but none born knowing...:coy:

Best regards!
Juan Luis

The diagnostic port is under the dash its the only thing that has prongs on it and looks like you plug something up to it. If you want to find out goto advance and have them check your diagnostic port LOL. They will show you. You don't directly modify the ratio. Did you not see on the web site where it told you all the functions of the program? Once you install dsmlink on your car open the program and connect the cable from the laptop to the diagnostic port. You can moddify fuel, rev limit, idle, Launch, No lift to shift, anti lag, What your factory boost gauge shows, such as changing it to show knock or 02 voltage, you can also read check engine lights and clear them, you can change timing, it has a setup for nitrous, lets you adjust the airflow to calibrate your maf if you have an evo maf or gm maf and it is also a datalogger. It has alot of functions and V3 will have even more. It is easy to use and you can mess around with it and at least figure out the basics. I love mine it was easy enough for me to install myselfand I haven't had any trouble with the program. If you feel this is to complex you can always try the safc :(

The only second generation cars that came with an Eprom ECU were the 95's, so if your car is a 99, then you need to find an Eprom ECU from a 95 to use in your car.

Many thanks for the info man! now i have it so many more clear :D this dsmlink sounds very interesant to start learning about tuning a car...:sneaky: i will look for this ####ing diagnostic port, its near the steering wheel? near the pedals of gas, clutch and brake? i didn't know never that my car got something like this :| it will be so interesant to look into the ECU hehe :p

MrBoxx, i already noticed now that just the 95 models got an Eprom ECU...well, i got a friend that its on a project with a 95 Eclipse GSX and removed his stock ECU for an AEM EMS so i will ask him if his stock ECU got the "E" on the sticker and maybe he give me it for free :D

Thanks to all, its a pleasure to walk around this site :) if someone want to see my 99 GSX i left some pics on the Introduction Thread :thumb:

Best regards!

Was your car imported from the U.S.? The reason I ask is that the OBDII system is related to U.S. emissions requirements. If your car is a European market car then it may not have OBDII. But I'm not sure if Mitsubishi made Eclipses specifically for the European market.

Nonetheless, the diagnostic port (if you have it) will be located above your right knee when you are sitting in the driver's seat. This will help:

Yeah, it was imported from the US, correctly from Pensylvania, anyway the Eclipse GSX wasn't sold on the European market (as i know) all the Eclipses Turbo running on Spain, no matter if they are GST or GSX are imported from the US, for sure, here just was sold the descaffeinated model "GS" with a 46g3 Non-Turbo...Spain is different...

Uhm...i will looking hard for this OBDII port, many thanks for the information this link its helpful :thumb:

Haha, now i understood this words that wvturbo2 wrote, you let me dislocked when you said me "go to advance" i keept in my mind thinking... "What's an advance?? WTF " Haha, it seems an Auto Parts Shop or Performance Car Shop or something like this right? :p

Yeah man, im in Europe, and all that all from you made so easy there on the US here its so very hard...we don't have tuners, we don't have good shops to buying parts, we just have estetical performance, nobody cares about engine tuning...If i say that the people says me i got leaks when them hears the bov...or something like this...i have to buy the parts for my DSM via internet on Ebay, Websites, etc....and i have to install them myself with nobody could help me...argh....

I WANT TO LIVE ON THE US!!!!! :(

Best regards from Africa

^^^ Did you find the diagnostic port ? If you have no one to read off engine codes to you then I say dsmlink will be a perfect fit for you. It's easy to tune has tons of features and can read engine codes. Good luck let us know what you decide to do.
