ECMlink dsmlink v3.. built motor randomly won't idle after some WOT tuning? PLEASE HELP

I went out last night for some WOT tuning. It went alright but after my 3rd log for the night i came to a red light and she wouldn't idle.. Under throttle and cruising and even WOT it drives fine. It just doesn't idle at all.

I changed the plugs, did nothing.

Checked timing to make sure i didn't skip a tooth or something crazy, cam gears and crank are dead on perfect.

Checked all vacuum lines and intercooler piping, it's all fine.

Fuel pressure is perfect..

Attached is the log that I did before it wouldn't idle.(log.2010.05.28-03.elg)
And an idle log from today showing how it won't idle.(log.2010.05.29-01.elg) (watch TPS)

Does anyone have ANY ideas to what could be causing this??? Does anyone see what went wrong maybe in the log before it wouldn't idle? I'm stumped

The second log shows that your TPS and idle position switch don't seem to be reaching normal idle values.

Do you have the throttle cable too tight?
The idle speed drops below the DSMLink setting, is your ISC good and the BISS set correctly?
Your coolant temp says your not warmed up yet. Since you didn't log ISC position it's hard to say it it was working. Logging Airflow/rev would be useful, more so than speed or boostEst right now.

The first log doesn't really show the car idling but it does show that the TPS and IPS did work but the engine seems really slow to respond to TPS input. Must be because you were driving around not sitting and idling.

I posted that 1st log just to see if anyone could see something go wrong that I didn't see.

Airflow/rev is logged.

The second log was just to show how it won't idle. My foot is on the gas or it won't idle at all, as you can see when I get under 3% or so of throttle.

I will try to get an ISC position, attempted idle log now haha.

Sorry I didn't look in the captured values, my mistake. Were you playing with setting while taking the log?

I also missed where the car stalled @ 36.5 seconds, then again @ 49 sec and see that there the TPS voltage and Idle switch show correct values.

Just did another log. at the beginning i'm cranking it without throttle as you can see it wont start or idle lower than like 4% throttle.. other than that it runs fine :confused:

ISCposition is logged in this log also.

Your ISC doesn't seem to be doing anything. Check the coils and check the BISS.

You also turned off the idle switch in the last log. The actual pin is changing but your not using it.

What are you using for a front O2. It seems to take a long time to come alive.

When you try and start the car is looks like it's difficult to get started, almost like it's not firing on all the cylinders. Do you have the FIAV blocked off

Right now I'd guess that your ISC is stuck closed and your BISS may be too far in.
 
Coils are fine. I do not have a FIAV block off or bypass.

For the hell of it I tried to "simulate idle switch from TPS" after that last log and still the same thing.

I'm gonna test my ISC tomorrow morning and report back.

Tested all the coils and they were all 30ohms or so.

Cleaned the plunger real good put her back in and shes perfectly fine.:coy:

30 is kinda on the high side of an ISC... You might want to have a spare just in case it dies.
 
Make sure it's moving. Depending on the coolant temps when you first start the car the ISC will be opened up somewhere between 80 and 120 steps, right after it starts you should see it ramp down to close to 0 and then as the engine comes up to temp at idle it should be between 12 and 30 counts.

As you turn the AC on or turn the steering wheel the count should rise and then drop when you remove the load.

If you see the steps drop to zero and stay the ECU is trying to lower the RPMs and having no effect or like in your case they were stuck on the other end of the scale and the RPMs were dropping, the ECU was trying to raise them but the ISC wasn't opening up to let more air in.

30 is kinda on the high side of an ISC... You might want to have a spare just in case it dies.

It's actually low for a new style plastic one which should measure about 40 ohms and fine for an old one which should measure about 28-33 ohms
