I recieved my V3 package for my 90 i bought off of a member on here today. Reset everything to stock, since im on stock injectors and all, and fired it up. Im thinking my O2 sensor is bad, because it wont cycle sometimes, and when it does it only reads from about .20 to .58v. My idle switch seems odd too, all over the place, and my car wont idle for a damn, same as before.

Anyway, the first issue I am needing help with is logging. I watched the videos on ECMlink about displayed and captured values, and when i go into Captured Values to set up what i want to log, it seems there is items missing, the one im most concerned about, knock. Knock is listed nowhere in there, only Knock retard. Is there anyway to set every single thing in the ecu back to default? I have no idea if the previous owner removed it or what, but it seems as tho there is not the right list of values there.
 
Knock retard is what your actually looking for. Link doesn't count..."counts" of knock, it looks at degrees of timing retard, because of knock. Get a knock "count" out of your head cause this isn't an AFC...it's WAY better. ;)

Also, obviously change your O2 sensor, it's out the door assuming you have stock injectors and have the Link set for the stockers. I see you list a 3" GM MAS in your cars profile. Did you go with the optional Link cable for it or are you using the translator box? If your using the box, set the switches in it for stock injectors and never touch it again. Work on getting it calibrated and get a wideband setup. I went with the AEM UEGO cause the buffer circuit did exsist and solves the issue with it. But honestly it's a hassel to get it to log correctly. Works and can be done obviously, plenty of people have. It's a very responsive wide band setup, I like the look of the gauge (matches my others well) etc. But something about there 5v analog driver just well it's to weak from my understanding hence the need for the buffer cirucit. If I were doing it again. I'd go with a wideband that was better supported by Link. BUT you do have more logging options than myself since I got rid of my GM MAS setup. You should have baro and intake temp available for logging if im not mistaken since you don't need those inputs with the GM MAS vs OEM MAF. So your not restricted to useing the EGR input for the wideband. So the UEGO setup might work fine though those inputs. (check for yourself)

Most any question I have ever had can be answered in Links wiki page btw, just take the time to read it over 2,3 hell four times LOL.

So im guessing in this video he has just changed the name of KnockRet to Knock. Wow i fell kinda dumb LOL. Yes stock MAF. Stock Injectors, Global and deadtime 0 as i have read.
 
Im at work so I can't view the demo vids. But more than likely yes. You can rename any of the values actually just by right clicking on it and going to the preferences of it. You can also change the line type and color to make it more obvious or less obvious if it's not a very important thing but you still want it on the graph.

I personally always keep knock, red and line, and I change the text size of it to...don't recall but pretty large, way bigger than all the other values, as well as change the text to red. Make it stand out really well so it's easy to read when im doing a pull and glance over at the laptop. ;)
 
Oh ok ill have to do that.I think I have an o2 sensor at the garage i can swap in and see if it works. I have an assortment of throttle bodies on the way to test and install one with good sensors, along with a JMF intake mani. Il swap the sensor and do a log including cruise and WOT pulls, just have to figure out how to upload em

Where did that all come from?? I know it wasnt there before. LOL, But I have the GM MAF installed in the Piping but currently do not have the cable, so im using the stock MAF. I have a Uego wideband, but it is not wired to the ecu for that reason, i think im going to also install an LC-1 wideband for logging purposes and keep my Uego also. My idle problem is that the idle switch is not working (ISC im guessing?) And my obvious 02 sensor problem, Idles like shit when its not reading it at all, then when it starts semi-working it fluctuates a high rev. I have an assortment of throttle bodies on the way to try though. But is it correct my o2 should cycle more than .20-.60?
 
Sounds like you have a boost leak if you idle fluctuates so much or the IACV is going bad. Watch the tutorials then watch them again. Set your TPS, then use MAFcomp. Also read changing injectors in the wiki. You need to read and understand the wiki on ecmlinks web site.

Im not really understanding, no boost at idle, so?? all my clamps are tight etc... IACV, where is that located? Or is it the ISC just different name.Already set my TPS adjust, havent driven it to get a log to use MAFcomp. I did read a bunch on wiki, and from that my injectors should be set right, no?
 
The idle is probably because of that bad o2. On our 2g when the o2 went out the thing just bounced around like crazy. Watching the o2 cycle it would just jump around and the idle would fluctuate in the same pattern to the point you'd have to peddle it most of the time to keep it idling. Swapped in the new o2 and it smoothed right out.
 
I have had 02 sensors go back on my 90 TSi and not cause idel issues though. For that reason and since were both in that same 1990 boat. I don't "think" it's the o2 sensor thats causing your idle issue. But I wouldn't rule it out, every cars different. On mine it just made it run rich. Which if you have a vac leak more air plus more fuel from runing rich could cause the engine to rev I suppose. Sort of like finding vac leaks with starting fluid. *shrug*

Do a boost test. Take it from someone whos been there and done that. You might swear to god himself theres no way you got a leak. But you might be supprised when you test it to find one, two, three or just one big one. Check your ICS and you might also try fiddeling with your BISS. (Base idel set screw)

BTW I think you can simulate the idel set switch, might play with that and see if you can get some positive results with it. Just make sure your TPS is set correctly first, fallow the demo and verify it's good then you should be able to use the simulate idel set option if im correct. (still learning on Link myself LOL)
 
When logging, the idle switch reads 0 and from my research it is supposed to read 1. Simulate it and it ran somewhat better, but still high idle. If i also check simulate idle from tps it was bouncing up and down, up to about 2500 and back down to 1400. Then it would smooth out and then bounce again. Il try and grab a log, just dont know how to upload it

The one problem i have been running into is that when i start the car, it doesnt want to kick out of open loop. i go up the road drive it for a minute, and it will kick into closed look and my afrs will hover right around 14.7 like they should. Any ideas?

I adjusted my TPS and it reads perfect. I have no experience tuning link, so im stuck on exactly where to start. All i know to do is adjust the TPS and use the MafAdjust.\

Also changed Throttle bodies and my idle switch works now.

How do i upload logs correctly? Tried through where it says attach files/upload photos and it says too large.

Your o2 sensor is working perfectly, it is supposed to switch in and out of closed loop.

Now you need to work on getting your airflowperrev right at .24-.26, MAFRaw around 60hz, and combinedFT right around 0.0%, all when at idle.
