I have the radioshack usb cable i was using with my gateway laptop...

but i can't just connect this usb cable into the mac and run straight to the ecu..

Is the radioshack cable compatible? also, if it is, how the hell do i get it to work??
What driver do i need?

You need a usb if not im not sure, i run mine to the port on my laptop, you dont have a usb, i would find a connector that will allow you to do that, contact dell, or ecmtuning for more information. Driver, why do you need a driver, should be plug and play. Do you have a pic, i just ran my to the usb port. Ecu port directly to the computer.

Some USB cables have a driver for them; some are plug and play. The USB cable that came with Link when I got it works fine with the MAC. I'd say go to Radioshack's site and look up the part number or model of that cable you have and see if they have anything online you can download to get it to work.

Wait... I'm kind of lost on what you're asking. You're looking for a Serial to USB cable to replace the one you have from ECM tuning so you can connect to Link?

run bootcamp or parallels, boot in windows and tune on windows while using OSX for everyday fun. that's what i do and no problems.

Okay, Here's the deal..

I have Dsmlink v2.

I have the cable that runs DIRECTLY from the OBD2 Port and it has a SERIAL end to it.. That serial end connects too THIS, Which is the male end to a USB cord..

This male end serial port to usb cord is what i need to connect the CABLE FROM DSMLINK to my MAC.
But i don't know which serial to Usb is compatible with mac, and then i don't know which one thats compatible with mac can be used with dsmlink..

Get the picture a little better now??

I use the Keyspan USA-19HS on my 95 Talon with v2. BTW I have a MacBook Pro :D.

For future reference the Link website has a page for these questions.

Your two options are to get the Keyspan 19H, or just get a cheap Windows laptop. I have used both on two of my cars running DSMLink 2.5.

Yeah but those are cables that are compatible with windows and vista.. not mac.

I can't get my Dynex to connect.. =/ is it not mac compatible and ecu?

Did you read my post? I stated I have a Mac laptop. I use it to tune with no problems with the Keyspan adapter. Are you sure you downloaded the right Mac version to your Mac?

My bad I skimmed it and seem like you didn't but for the DYNEX do you have to download anything? I downloaded a program (or whatever it was ) to my Mac and it connected on my first try. Didn't try it before downloading it though.
